No commercial flights in this airport as of this moment. Zest Air suspended its flights to the airport last September 2011 due to low passenger traffic. The airport is constantly promoted to airline companies so it would attract flights and increase activity in the airport. There are currently 15 flying schools utilizing the airport. Earlier this month, the government has announced plans to privatize the airport and develop it into a world-class airport. Hope these will push through VERY SOON.

Be a PILOT...Takeoff to a rewarding career.

Leading Edge is the FIRST and ONLY Cessna Pilot Center (CPC) in South East Asia. As a CPC, it is a flight school authorized by Cessna Aircraft Company, the leading designer and manufacturer of light and midsize business jets, utility turboprops and single engine aircraft, to conduct the CESSNA FLIGHT TRAINING SYSTEM – a system that ensures standardized training and highest quality instruction for student pilots.

The system pairs home study course with flight lessons and uses Computer-Based Instruction Program (CBI) wherein flight and ground school lessons are designed by education experts to work together for maximum retention. This tool allows more comprehension among students and consistency among instructors and is the only integrated flight training program in existence.

CPC Students using the system are trained to come to lessons completely prepared and therefore learn faster and perform better. In fact, average private pilot completion time for CPC students in the US is 28% faster than national average and success rates for CPC students on FAA knowledge exams are significantly higher than national average.

Cessna Pilot Centers make up the largest network of flight training facilities in the world. For more information, visit the Cessna website >

Leading Edge has state of the art equipment and a hangar in San Fernando, La Union. It is equipped with wifi which the student will enjoy in the course of his study. The hangar is located near various beaches and sights where students can also relax and enrich their knowledge of the culture.

To privatize is for the airport be governed under a new management. It is the job then of the soon-management-to-be to market the airport to the airline companies. Local officials should also optimize its campaign on the tourism of our province to support the use of the airport

Sayang ang airport na ito. Once mag-open yung ginagawang expressway diyan, ang Clark to Baguio ay 1 hour nlng.

"quite sayang" for now.

Magiging kapaki-pakinabang lang ito through/by/when the following:

1. Kapag matuloy ang privatization nito

2. Gawing feeder airport for Clark. Sometimes foggy sa NAIA at ang ibang planes ay idina-divert nalang sa Clark, but clark airport traffic increasing, and the Tarlac-La Union expressway is under construction. Once finished, planes to Clark may be diverted to San Fernando Airport

3. Construction of a Passenger Terminal

4. Intensive intensive intensive promotion of our LGUs to Tourism in the Province and Baguio City to neighboring countries and at Bicol, Visayas and Mindanao areas

5. If airlines would be willing to open international flights, say HK-San Fernando and vv.

almost parehas actually ang distansiya by road (the expressway will terminate at Rosario, La Union. Rosario to Baguio is 46 kms while Rosario to San Fernando is 55 kms). sa travel time lang maiiba.

As what other poster said, mukhang GenAv airport nalang ang SFE with complete facilities. That is kung mangyayari yung expansion sa Clark. Malay natin baka lumipat yung Omni School dyan sa SFE.

AFAIK, Clark and SFE is always being used for cross country flight in pilot training and flight hour building. I'm seeing na pwede ring mag cater ang SFE for private Business jets but its up to the LGU on how they heavily promote San Fernando.
