A few weeks ago, SHoP was one of four architects that released visions for a new Penn Station. A very tall, classical looking, spired tower was included. (See below.) Perhaps, Mr. Pasquarelli was revealing something about another project (i.e., 105 W 57th).

Envision this in a few years with many more supertalls!

That would look amazing for Central Park. Now I'm getting that Johnny thingy.

If this will have a spire then I hope it will be 1200ft up to where the spire starts & not 1200 ft to the tip.

I was almost positive it will be over 300 meters - supertall. but 370!!!! NYC is one hell of a perfect money investment it seems. Good news in a crazy kind of way considering how small and thin this place is.

God, I hope you turn out to be right. That tower was my favorite part of those Penn Station pitches. Obviously wouldn't be quite as tall as pictured there, but the form's fantastic, and the profile definitely seems to fit the dimensions of the lot.

Now can someone PLEASE smack Amanda Burden over the head with this? Tower Verre's going to be absolutely dwarfed by the 57th Street gang, and that's just criminal.

no ESB is ~385 meters. This one will go maximum 370. But it is way higher than 57 Carnegie right next door

The good thing is that this company is not Extell, then we should see the render soon.

It would be nice if someone could make the mass model of this tower together with others proposals in 57 street - view of the park.

1200 ft per DOB filings, so that only means to the highest occupied floor, right? How the hell did they manage to stretch this out this high?

Wow! If u thought 432Park was crazy thin, this one's gonna blow you away, the building will be 300k of air rights compared to 432's 500k. I gotta say I didn't care much about this building but now with the height increase and SHOP at the helm, guess we got another great supertall in NYC. I can't keep count anymore!

Given the push for greater height, I would not be surprised to see 220 CPS and 650 Madison crack the 300m barrier.

432 Park Ave.'s 89 floors will cost a little over $1 billion and One57's 75 floors will cost an estimated $1.3 billion. I'm having a really hard time processing that $2.5 billion number. SHoP's designs are generally economical to build although clearly JDS is planning something special here. Maybe it's a deliberately vague extended number on that DOB filing.

you bet me to it.
was about to say, do not forget about shenzhen. but in the end it is all about timing for the cities. if new york starts all proposed projects rather soon it may still get the title since shenzhen has a lot of long term projects. but on the other side New York sometimes takes very long to get buildings up and Shenzhen also has a lot of supertalls that are not included in the list, since they are still conceptual and only fillers for the qianhai area, so we will see how it goes.
