Why is this tower named "Steinway" ? Is it related to the Steinway Company ? (piano makers ?)

Actually, it is not named Steinway. The official name is the address: 111 W57th. Steinway is just a nickname because the Steinway Hall is next door to it and was bought by the developers to make this project. The old Steinway Hall building will be kept as part of this development and is being remodeled. And yes, the Steinway Hall belonged and had offices and showrooms for the piano maker but they vacate the building and won't return there, having moved to another location.

They can leave all of the forms in place for 10 floors at a time if necessary, and the forms do all of the work until the concrete is fully cured. It takes 2 day to harden to 50% strength, about a week to 90% strength, and reaches maximum strength in 30 days. Look at some of the other concrete towers and you will see all of the forms in place.

Forms are usually removed at 7 days as they need to climb to the next level (typically there are two sets of forms so two floors can be formed at a time). Once the forms are removed, shoring is put in place. Shoring typically extends to three to four floors below the level being poured.

Exactly how wide do you think elevators and staircases are?

I hope the glass isn't blue. To mach the terracotta it needs to be golden or silver or some other earth tone. Liquid blue glass with that art deco/gothic decor is going to make the building look like something straight out of the "Balkan" school of architecture.

Since this is a mockup to see what the selected materials would look like, I would guess that what we see is the final color of the glass (without any protective coverings). Unless the designers or the owner does not like the look and decides to change it.

The sampling looks excellent. Now I would like to see some serious visible progress at the site.

The building is Art Deco inspired not purely Art Deco, and I think what most of us find amazing about it is how it blends its Art Deco influence with a modern and even futuristic design. So I'm absolutely fine with the blue glass, i think it adds that modern feel to it and I love it! This is gonna be one of the most unique building in the planet.

You're probably right, but I would love to see a side by side with one where the glass is a "creme" color somewhere in between the bronze and latte terracotta. That blue makes it look "cheap" to me. Make's it look like a standard generic glass building with some "bling" glued over it.
