I really don't see it blue, it may have some blue reflection, because of the sky, but I see it more black-ish, And I think it looks just fine. That color makes contrast between the creme and bronze, enhancing it. A golden glass just wouldn't make contrast and all will look the same. It doesn't have to match, it needs to contrast. Besides, golden glass is really hideous, I dont think that nothing could make something cheaper and bad taste looking than golden glass, just horrid so, please, don't

Woah, that dark bronze would actually look pretty good.

Although I disagree that the regular blue glass would make it look cheap.

A fully golden tower would be tacky as hell.

I hide well. Actually I spend most of my time here, but I rarely post since I don't really have anything to contribute, other than random comments.

Bird in Space

Which I love. I like the golden glow and its light "eternal reach" effect.

I must say that this fašade is one of the best ones I've seen recently on a skyscraper. Can't wait to see the final version on the building!

I don't think golden/bronze glass always looks bad. the interesting characteristic about golden/bronze glass is that the color/reflection really changes depending on atmospheric conditions making the building look anything from pale rose to champagne to gold. Since blue and green glass are similar to the color of the sky, their appearance does not vary as much from a cloudy day to a sunny day. Besides, if it is done right, bronze/gold cladded buildings can be spectacular because they will stand out in an ocean of blue and green glass:

Gold/bronze cladding isn't always the worst... but I think it's misused much more frequently than it's used well.

But I think the color debate is a bit moot. Unless JDS decides they abhor that mock-up, that dark blue/gray is what we should expect. And I think it's pretty clear why they went with that color: to emphasize the bronze and terra cotta, which are what really sets this building apart. Going dark will create a ton of contrast, casting the more important materials in sharp focus, even when viewed from a long way away.

This will be unbelievably beautiful. I think the glass tint is a nice contrast to the bronze and terra cotta, to SHoP for incorporating Art-Deco into this futuristic marvel.
