Neat, so we'll have innovative lighting here and at Tower Verre

In the first two Chris Nolan Batman movies, it was. Then for the last one, it become a fusion of NYC and Pittsburgh.

It looks to me like the terra cotta tracks are either lit from within or, more likely, lit from below with spotlights sitting in the bottoms of the grooves.

However it's done, the effect is gorgeous. My only concern is whether they can fully implement a lighting scheme like that when it means creating light pollution directly in front of the windows of the ludicrously expensive apartments. But on the other hand, the sides of the buildings with the narrow windows are unlikely to be where most residents spend their time looking.
With the terra cotta curved like it is, and the light being very subtle, I don't think the residents would even notice. Looks like a non factor to me

Both were primarily modeled after New York. According to Frank Miller:

Metropolis is New York in the daytime and Gotham City is New York at night

Ok, I figured out what this tower's shape reminds me of:

... a wooden door wedge.

The debate about whether Gotham is Chicago or New York shows you the power of movies. Merely because the most recent Batman movies were filmed mostly in Chicago, people believe Gotham is supposed to be Chicago. People mistake the setting of a movie as conclusive proof when it serves as a backdrop like a Hollywood set. A cultural frame of reference of 10 years based on mass media will not adequately reflect reality.

As someone stated, Gotham is New York, and originally a town in England. Washington Irving nicknamed New York Gotham back in 1807 as a joke.

It'll be a reason for me to get myself on Top of the Rock yet again in the future ! ...Well there is plenty enough to see nonetheless... But reason enough to fly over the Atlantic for a revisit... That's what New York will definitely be in the future, 'cause it already is and will be tenfold !!

Gotham is a Boston/Lower Manhattan Hybrid

Metropolis is a Midtown/Philadelphia hybrid

National City is Los Angeles.

I always say Gotham City in full when referring to the city from the Batman universe to avoid confusion with the nickname for NYC.
