^ That will be hardly an issue. That`s like saying you can`t see onto the street because there is a streetlamp in front of you house.

Realistically it'll just make that view more spectacular.

This is the best I could get for actual site. It appears they are still picking apart at the bedrock. Site security is incredibly annoying here, worse than any other site in the city. They will move the gate or block your camera with their hand to block your photos. There were several workers down in the hole and at least 10 on the sidewalk.

That`t not cool. I wonder why they are so strict here.

They are the worst in the city, or anywhere of the at least 300 sites I have covered. Even the Port Authority is more lenient.

I'm surprised this hasn't reached street level yet, although some of the other developments along 57th street are well ahead (especially 220 CPS and 217 W57), I have a feeling that it will ultimately start shooting up a lot quicker due to its slenderness.

^ I think it has to do with the fact that a few existing buildings will be tied in with the tower.

The security guys at this site are probably so on edge because of the controversy regarding the large non-union labor component being used to build the tower. Union workers have been filming at the site, taunting the non-union JDS-hired laborers and pointing out violations, which may have contributed to the recent stop work order.

I'm surprised that all that steel is still intact on the east side of the Steinway building. That alley is only 42 feet wide, so the base of the tower is going to have to extend about 17 feet into the existing Steinway building (the tower base is listed as 58.75 feet wide from west to east, and 79.25 feet wide from north to south). Is it possible that they will actually keep the original Steinway steel in place? That doesn't seem to be optimal on a 1438' foot-tall tower. I should think they would want to have the total area of the tower base clear to allow for the use of new materials down to the bedrock.

Thanks for trying. I suggest either a selfie stick or a tripod (with the legs squeezed together) so you can hold the camera up high while using the camera's self timer. If you have a multiple photo-burst mode, take 10 pictures in a row while turning the camera left to right to get shots of the whole site using a wide angle lens.

was there yesterday but unfortunately could not see anything going on. in any case, there is enough going on in NYC to keep me very excited, but this one is going to jaw dropping, the Empire State Building of the new millennium and only 16 feet shorter if you count spire. not sure why they didn't take it the extra few feet.

Wasn't sure the best thread to post such a fantastic image of NY 2030. All credit goes to NY Curbed and Ben Keen. Please be sure to take a look.

Not even 3 is there. It's pretty much just the Midtown developments but the rendering for 217 W57 looks a bit off.
