Yeah, that last picture shows the same image I saw when I visited a year ago. Of course they have done a lot of basement work and so on. Still, compared to other towers nearby this one is definitely the slow poke of the bunch.

A reminder of where this tower will rise.

This building will use much space from existing adjacent buildings, so that is where much of the current work is taking place at the moment.

It seems like the front part will be the last they will build

Non union projects tend to be slower. Just an observation.

This is opposite of the truth. Non-union workers get paid carrot-on-a-stick style, and don't give a **** about safety procedures. They work very fast.

Question: Does any more demolition have to take place on this site or is the space that is in there the entire space this tower will need?

It looks like they're leaving space for the columns. So it appears no further demolition is needed.

OMG I can't believe that also this is finally raising above ground!

What's the anticipated completion for this supposed to be?2019?
That means that the tower itself will be done by 2018 with interior finishes only left.

No, I don't. I was just posting someone else's photo so you could see it. I was in a hurry and thought it was more important to get the photo visible so others could see it than to figure out how to post it smaller from imgur. I'm sure it's simple. How do you do it?

p.s. - Guns n Roses rocks, but when I saw them in California in 1992, Axl was a dick.

Just upload it and then you should see 'edit image' in the top right corner, just adjust it there. The best size for a thread is at most 1200x800 unless you have a bigger monitor.

...Off topic but imo it's no big deal for a genius to be a "dick"as long as he gives mankind happiness..
God bless Axl...Slash...and Shop!!

Agreed in general principle, but not in real life.

He stole my money (and that of thousands of others at this one concert alone). I paid to see Guns n Roses perform a concert. What I got was three songs followed by him cursing out the crowd, calling us "a bunch of fags" and walking off like a crybaby. He displayed homophobia, petulance, and complete lack of professionalism. Slash was cool though... he apologized to the crowd and played about 10 minutes of classical guitar, then said, "Good night."

I once saw Lou Reed at an Italian restaurant in New York. In this scene from an Italian restaurant, Mr. Reed was rude to his waiter on several occasions. The waiter handled it well, but the "genius" was a dick to him for no reason, and his dickishness certainly did nothing to give mankind happiness (other than the fact that I can smile as I relate this story while informing others that he was a dick).

Not to add to the union discussion above. I just am curious:

Now that it is rising, and given that it has a tiny floorplate for such a tall building, is it reasonable to expect this to rise very rapidly?

Does anyone know of an expected top out or completion estimate?
