Can someone please explain to me how the panorama tower in Miami is 253 meters and 83 stories, while this beauty will be 438 meters and 80 stories? Does this tower have really high ceilings or is the top portion unusable?

These high end towers have massive ceiling heights.

Actually this is a room with ceilings twice as high as most of the stories.
Not that i don't like it

The only thing I don't like about this tower is the gold trim.
If it were silver it would be perfect.

I kinda like the golden trim. I think that it will make a nice contrast with the dark blue cladding that we were able to see (the sample). At sunset it should give a nice shine to the building. However, I might be wrong.

Lol!..I love the Steinway piano in the pic above!..
As I expect the best materials for the tower,I have no doubt the golden trim will be dazzling!

See, for me, that room would be empty except for my massive throne.

Visitors would have to avert their eyes from my august visage.

they also decrease total building weight which is probably part of what allows it to be so tall yet so thin.

Moving at snail's pace.

Look at the right side, will the tower be even slimmer that we originally thought?

I think that this tower will rise very quickly, it has small floorplates. We should see this one growing like a mushroom.

That rebar in the last pic seems to be for the elevator core. To the right of that, looks like stairs and a thick support wall on that side right next to The Quin.

Yeah, think of all the extra money they'd make by having union workers finish the building sooner and getting the units on the market before the competition. Then factor in the interest made off that money. Short sighted and petty if you ask me.

I think the relative slowness in the construction of this building has little to do with the fact it is being buid non union (and I am pro union)

It has some characteristics that make it difficult to build it quicker, at least for now:

1) Although it has small plates, the vertical elements, columns and shear walls are pretty big, thus, they need mor time to pour them.

2) I think they don't have a concrete pump yet, pouring with buckets is slower.

3) They can't install a climbing system until they surpass the neighboring buildings, installing all the formwork by hand is, again, slower.

4)The building is attached to a historic building, making all the works more complex.

5) The space they have to work is tiny, making delivering and stocking materials, a logistic nightmare.
