it's been awhile since this quality of cladding has been erected in NYC... when's the last time terracotta was put up on a new skyscraper in the city?

I believe it is at 35 Hudson yards... so pretty recently.

<edit> that is limestone actually, not terracotta, sorry.

several prominent modern buildings have used limestone like 15 Central Park West, 30 Park Place, and Yankee Stadium.

Ryer corrected his post. Limestone like in HY is a natural stone, whereas Terracotta is similar to glazed ceramic tiles (what is used here for the Steinway Tower

Hopefully those golden fins won´t look tacky in the final result. I find this building to be spectacular, but imagine if they had used black marble on the facade along those golden fins, and terracotta sides.

That picture reminds me why New York is the most interesting city built by man.

propertymarketsgroup --- Perfection in the City of Dreams #111W57

The building north of 111 W. 57th and between it and Central park is the former Barbizon Plaza Hotel (built in 1930), now Trump Parc. The address is 106 Central Park South.

I've seen Trump Parc listed at 450' feet tall, but this model suggests it's a smidge taller:

Excellent views of the Park will begin above the 450' level, as Essex House, Hampshire House, and Trump Parc are all around that height, and will extend upward for about 700 feet in Steinway Tower, up to the highest apartment with its floor at the 1150' level.
