I used to say that even if I were super rich, I'd never want to live in Midtown (I'd much rather live downtown) but this building, along with Hudson Yards has changed my mind I think!

So who's in New York is confirming that work hasn't stopped yet and this beauty is still rising?

I don't know why so many people believe that rumour that the construction of this building has stopped. I am not in New York, nor I have to be to confirm that the work has not stopped, just browsing a few pages in this thread and anybody can confirm for themselves.

The first picture was posted on july 11th (published on instagram on july 9th) The second picture, the last posted here, is from two days ago.

You all can count there are seven floors above the blank wall facing 57th St. in the first picture, and ten floors in the most recent picture. Three full floors have been built in the last month, a floor every 10 days. Not an extreme speed, but not a slow one either, and certainly not a stalled work

I went by the site last week, and construction was in full swing.

The tower is not stopped? That's good news. I suppose you can't really trust what those real estate blogs/papers are saying because often they are full of alarmist click-bait crap.

Me! I went by today. I don't have a fancy camera and I wasn't able to get a view from high up, but I took a cell phone pic from the street!

That facade is really shiny in person! It doesn't show too well in my image, but it's like a mirror!

I know you can't see any workers in this shot, but you can clearly hear a lot of noise from the street. It is 100% still on!

Even just the little bit they have is pretty impressive when you see it up close in person. I'm just waiting for someone with a nice fancy camera to get a better shot of it!

I wish I could still be there and I would do it!
Amazing to see first cladding going up!

Are the closed floors that we see mechanicals?

And to think the building will only get thinner.

It looks better than I imagined. Very Woolworth building reminiscent. Hopefully terracotta facades will make a big comeback with high profile projects like this.

Not from this angle, but east-west, yeah.

Even so, it's Sooo skinny, even more than the older tower behind it with the gold crown. That always looked too skinny to me, now this is going to be three times as tall but skinnier. I'll make a bet right now and say no supertall will ever be skinnier. I just don't see it happening.

(Please don't mention The Creek Tower in Dubai)

Edit: Scratch that. The Creek Tower in Dubai will be way wider than this. So yup, this will probably be the thinnest supertall ever.
