Wow, what a pleasant surprise! Another 400m+ über for New York in the pipeline. 57th Street is going crazy.

Where did that render come from? I've only seen the one from the south?

I tried reverse searching and looking up recent pics under 107 57th but there's nothing so far. Need higher res! Good looking tower.

looks like it'll be a 1350ft tall wall of glass when viewed from CP... awesome. And 432 Park + 225 w 57th street on opposite ends of the street

this rendering really puts things into perspective, it's going to be the 2nd tallest in midtown, a mere 18 ft short of 1 WTC's parapet height

I agree. This will balance out 225 W 57th and 432 Park, with the "mere" 300m towers (One 57 and Tour Verre) in the middle. Hopefully, 220 CPS and the Park Lane also will be around 300m.

makes me a bit worried new york midtown turns into another dubai marina. a lot of very thin towers that have a design that would be nice as a stand-alone building but together...

I don't think that it will become that dense. There are a lot of old landmarked buildings in this area so they will be a natural density limiting factor

Btw, it will be great for the city's economy if many billionaires will live in it. These folks spend a lot and that is water for the windmills of money flow. Besides, I read in an article posted in the 432 Park thread that 70% of the buyers of apartments in the building are american, so hopefully people will indeed live in these buildings and not just put their money into them

^yeh, with these towers being so thin, and much taller than they're surrounding buildings with quite some space apart, it'll be like back in the when Art Deco skyscrapers towered above their surroundings
like adding another layer to the urban fabric without clogging the sky up
