I made this one comparing with what, until recently, was thought as the ultimate skinny tower, 432 Park.

According to the scheme that was posted some days ago, the tower will be about 60 x 75 ft (and even less in the upper floors) compared with the 93 ft of each side in 432 Park.

It is an exercise to see how it could work with the neccesary services. I estimate this tower, due to its height, should have at least three passenger elevators, plus one freight (432 has 4+1) to made the core minimum and leave free space for the apartments. I guess that it will have some external columns, similar to those on the old WTC. at least in the east and west facades. It could have two smaller apartments, of about 1700 sq ft or a bigger one of about 3500 sq. ft per floor (or bigger appartments that use two or more floors)

I agree.
The core walls will probably very thick, even thicker than 432Parks.
I'm looking forward to see real floor plans.

Really like the separation between floors on the north face. I can't decide whether I prefer this or the original Tower Verre. Both are fantastic.

TV also had a slight design alteration that was pretty controversial on here almost a year ago.

Wouldn't be the only one. For me, Verre lost a chunk of its elongated elegance when it got shortened. I'd put Steinway ahead of it in my personal rankings which (not limited to supertalls) probably go something like:

1. 2 WTC
2. Steinway
3. Tower Verre
4. Equinox
5. 56 Leonard

But it just goes to show what a renaissance NYC is going through that you could slot in a dozen other towers and they'd stake a legitimate claim to the crown. Especially compared to, say, LA where I currently reside, which has one exciting tower going up, or my hometown of SF, where the only supertall underway is so bland I'd prefer they didn't even build it.

Re: the great model photos, can anyone tell what the deal is with that gap on the Park facing side, about six floors up from the bottom of the photo? Any idea if that's intentional, or just a missing piece?

But yes vg, TV's proportions were better before.

One more from the derek guy at wired:

Imagine if it really was confined to that little gap.

Despite the alteration, still a very special tower IMO. But yea the haircut and change was a bummer and still is. Thanks for reminding me.

Seems like we all have the same top 5 buildings but with different variations. I have:

1) Tower Verre
2) Steinway tower
3) 2WTC
4) 56 Leonard
5) tie between The Pyramid and The Corset

Don't u guys love those names by the way? "Pyramid", "Corset", "Tower Verre". Only in NYC!

I'm gonna break the list norm and have 432 Park as one of my top projects in NYC. And I also like the newer Verre design.

This will be an interesting tower to watch rise.

If built in Denmark I'd call it "Tower of Bagel".
