Yep, Wilfred.... in an interview one of the developers mentioned it will rise approximately 1,400 ft. and I saw another article where the same height was mentioned so with 432 Park and the Nordstrom Tower we can have three soaring towers within a few blocks that are all taller than 1 WTC to the roof, which is 1,368 ft before the spire/glorified antenna.

The communication rings of 1WTC are about 1400' though and I would consider that the crown of the building.

Still this thing will be really tall.

I was just going that they were going to the roof height of WTC1 match it with the old towers at 1,368 ft... it's kinda semantics but yep they'll all be quite a site n the skyline, especially with the contrasts of leaner and bulkier towers spread out.

Structural gymnastics help ultrathin, ultra-tall residential towers for the ultrarich make their mark on the Manhattan skyline. (read entire article in link)

yea I'm sure that's old. The developer has said the other week that it will rise close to 1400' so I'm guessing this sucker will be 1350 - 1400'.

Still pretty intersting drawing, because it shows all the features which help stabilize the tower.
Looking forward to the construction of this needle.

So can we realistically expect that excavation/piling will begin this summer?

We can unrealistically expect that excavation/piling will begin this summer. By that I mean they'll ship in some elves from Lapland to build the thing in a single night. Except nobody will see them do it and few will even believe they ever existed. ooooOOOOOooooooh.

Who knows. I've never seen so many false starts on a project. This thing has been about to start (in one form or another) for years.

The wait is killing me, this is my favorite proposal in the city.
