That's great news. I assume that the design will either change altogether or be tweaked.

Yes very exciting! 300m will be very impressive for such a thin skyscraper along this "New-High Tower District", the 57th street corridor.

Excellent! Reminds me of 80 South St., the tower that kept growing...

Imagine that, towers in New York get a height increase. I know it's not for the first time, but still. A couple of years ago we would be drooling over any proposed supertall project. Now it's like: ah great, looks good. NEXT.

The fact these towers' heights keep getting revised upward ought to indicate that New York's residential market is going nuclear.

Financing wont be the determining factor in whether this reaches 300m or not. Whether practical floor plates can be designed or not will decide this building's height.

It might require a spire or crown to reach 300m. There's a limit to how much floor space this development can add.

I doubt it will have to have a huge spire - if they already are talking about going more than 900 ft, it means they only need 100 ft or about 30 meters to go to supertall status or 1000ft.

30 meters with the high ceilings that these luxury apartments usually have, is only 6, maybe 7 floors. nothing to talk about really. It is a supertall building

Sure if it had double floor ceiling heights like 432 Park Ave. But I'm not sure why a residential tower needs a spire at all unless it's a signature tower which this one won't really be given all the supertall neighbors going up. It's interesting and unusual but Tower Verre will blow it out of the water.

Tower Verre will certainly will. but this one has the potential to become thinnest supertall in the world. An achievement in its own right. So it is possible they will realize that and add something to it. after all less than 100 ft is not a huge addition. But lets see what happens.

Let me bet you a 6 pack of your choice beer it will become a supertall. If I loose I will buy you one in Albuquerque

Thinner than 432 Park? What dimensions will the footprint of this tower have?

The plot is ROUGHLY 28,5m * 13,4m big. The DOB documents of the current design showed, that the tower portion will be a lot smaller then the overall plot size. It will be set back from 57th street and from the oposit side, facing the inner side of the block. So, yeah. Given the chance and i´m sure it´ll be a supertall. This will be an ultra super slim tower. I wonder how the slimness of this tower, will play with your mind, and give the tower a more vertigo feel to it. Than a bulkier supertall gives.

I just built a rough massing of the original design, and tweaked it to a height of exactely 300m or 983,6feet. SUPER SLIM!

The massing across Solow, is the potential Solow supertall.

What's the building on the right in the render? It looks like a supertall as well!

But it's good to see another slim tower reaching for supertall status! Midtown will look insane in 10years time, and to think there will be plenty more proposals in the comi g years! :O
