No it shouldn't. 1400ft is just an approximate value. As of now it is still officially 1350ft.

Even though it may be the thinnest skyscraper in the world, it has so many setbacks that I think it may slow down construction a bit.

yeah but the setbacks don't start until a little over 700feet. So it should rise pretty quickly

So, there is an official name, "Walker Tower"?
Thread's title must be updated then.

No no, Walker Tower is one of JDS's other ultra high end developments, listed there along with 626 First Ave, and 111 57th St. Here's what Walker looks like:

That tower is an amazing conversion!...they should have an iconic name to this future icon.111 west 57th street is not a name that people will remember; and it's a mouthful ...432 park is a nice simple name

Well, this one is sometimes referred to as "Steinway Tower". No shame in that.

I don't think it will ever officially be Steinway Tower, Extell dropped Carnegie and like weidncol pointed out Drake isn't being used.

Could've had
Nordstrom
Carnegie
Steinway
Drake

Instead we get ordinary addresses. Girasole appears to have been dropped, hope Tower Verre and 1 Vanderbilt aren't next.

Let's just hope they don't start calling 2 World Trade Center 200 Greenwich Street, 3 World Trade Center 175 Greenwich Street, and 4 World Trade Center 150 Greenwich street. I don't think One World Trade Center has a street name, but they got rid of Freedom Tower.

As for West 57th Street, I will never refer to 432 Park Avenue and One57 as the Drake Tower (validation needed) and Carnegie57. But I will always refer to 111 West 57th Street as the Steinway Tower and 217 West 57th Street as Nordstrom Tower from time to time.

And who calls the "Empire State Building" and the "Chrysler Building" anything but the popular names? Having an official address is fine... but for that matter who even calls 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue other than the "White House"?

It's essential that the official name stand for something iconic and identifiably "New York".... not the clinical street addresses which will confuse the hell out of everyone anyway.

Haha, I can only imagine being the only person on-site for a project this size, slooowly chipping away. "Just one scoop at a time... *looks up* Sighhhh."
