Photos I took while out this past Saturday.

Active digging on the weekend is a good sign:

Lots of scaffolding going up, which is a good sign of progress (finally):

This may be the tiniest super tall site in the world.

It, along with all the others along 57th, has been featured heavily in local media- usually bitching about the have-nots.

Lets be honest; it's hard to find a better symbol of avarice in the United States than the new billion-dollar ivory towers in the heart of New York City.

Doesn't mean they're aware of the beauty that is about to rise.

Probably a few. that site looks so insignificant and hidden. Will be a pleasant surprise for them.

The number of construction worker jokes on this forum is unprecedented.

I guess it's just that when you compare construction sites such as this, on that tiny little plot, with it's one lone excavator...

...with sites like these...

...or any other 400+ supertall construction site, it does seem kind of hilarious, when you think about how huge this building is actually going to be.

It's just funny. But I guess it's going to pick up speed and space at some point.

I due fairness, those latter huge sites, which I'm guessing are in China, are for whole complexes of buildings, not svelte individual towers.

That doesn't change the fact, that those Asian new cities build in extremely extensive way.
It's not a matter of plot but a whole big block. That's the difference.
