I've added 111 West 57th, One57 and Tower Verre to this diagram for 1 Vanderbilt!

I made 111 half the width of 432; which from what I understand is its true width? If so, that's unreal - look:

The part above the BOA looks incredibly thin! I can't even picture the rest!

Great work! Although I think 111 West 57th is 60' wide, so 2/3 the width of 432 Park Avenue.

That is accurate enough for the diagram.

The Nordstrom would be on a block to the left of the current drawing, if the drawing carried on to the left more I would add it, other wise it would just be on its own

So it is pretty accurate

Nice! It's crazy to think how skinny and freakish the Steinway will be. This will be a gem & unique.

111 w 57th will be 60 feet wide when seen from the south or north. The base is 80 feet wide on the east and west.

432 Park is 96.5 feet wide on each side.

It may be less than a year, they have yet to knock down the small building at the back, that shouldn't take too long though. Then they have to dig relatively deep I assume; it maybe a smaller site compared to Nordstrom, but they can't fit as much machinery on site, so it could take a while...

So 6 months to a year sounds plausible - But in the mean time we'll have 220CP and Nordstrom to watch and many others! It's a constant stream of NY towers

Agreed. Some construction manager is being kept awake every night by feverish logistics-related nightmares. It almost seems like they might have to gut part of Steinway just to stage equipment under/inside and then rebuild it on the way back up!

Such a tall building needs serious foundations at least 70-100 feet deep, unless there is bedrock at lower depth. If they have to excavate so much the nearby buildings need to be all stabilized before digging can proceed. and stabilization pillars would take a lot of useful space underground. Can someone explain how they gonna do it ?

The bedrock is very shallow at this location, therefore they will not be digging a very deep foundation (common in Manhattan). The structure itself will be anchored into the bedrock.

Screenshot of the base (showing one level basement) from a SHoP presentation on the tower from earlier this year:

If you have time to spare, you can watch the hour long + video HERE.
