I have a feeling this will surpass One57. It's Stern vs Barnett vs Macklowe ... the war is on!

if they can get this over 1,000ft that would be great! I suspect they may do it with a crown vs a spire. I don't think there are any residential towers with a spire, but I could be wrong.

I'll move it on spec but it would be nice to have more confirmation about its supertall status.

^ Thanks. We can always move it back if the final height ends up <300m (very unlikely). I expect some detailed info from the developer pretty soon. Btw 1000ft = 305m.

Since the developer stated that he's seeking a classic deign, this likely will have a crown, and thus, should exceed 300m to the top of the crown.

The Trump Palace, a little known building on E 69th St (dating from 1991), has a nice crown. I expect something far more extravagant from JDS, however.

I went ahead and changed the nominal values because while this tower will likely be a supertall now, it may not reach 1,000 ft. As for moving it back to Skyscrapers, I'd much rather just have to adjust the height numbers!

It only needs 5 more feet to be the tallest residential in NY. That would be a selling point.

Horrible building, but the crown itself is good. Hopefully they will design a proper classical-style building.

Trump Palace is far from horrible. At around 190m, it would be one of -- if not the --centerpiece of any US skyline other than NY or Chi.

a 190m building would not be the centerpiece of Los Angeles, Houston, Philly, Dallas, Miami, Seattle, Atlanta, San Francisco or even Pittsburgh or Boston either, I may have even missed a few cities

The Trump Palace is 634 feet tall. It gets lost in the sauce in Manhattan, to some extent. It's a nice building, and I like the terraces.

It's definitely a nice building and I think if I'm not mistaken the tallest in the Upper East Side. When I lived around that area the view from my apartment was facing North overlooking the whole Upper East Side and Central Park and the view of the Trump palace was a big part of my life everyday. lol. While it's nice I just wished my view was facing midtown instead.

It's handsome and fits in very well. So well in fact that many people forget about this place. Maybe some dramatic lighting would help...

The crown is lit beautifully at night.
