No way, it would look like a TV Tower stuck on top. If they choose that one the tower will be ruined, and we know how easily those bad opaque panels on One57 made the whole tower look bad.

What is the difference except for the higth?

I would say Opt1, it's smother in my opinion. The second one looks a bit top heavy, like if it would crack at the last windopening, when it got hit by a hard storm.

Agreed, It just doesn't fit with the design. Even if it's just a 2dimensional drawing.

Well, we have no proof but there is this:

In September, an in-house crew of construction managers and nonunion subcontractors began pouring the property's elaborate foundation. By the summer, the developers are planning to begin raising the tower's reinforced cast concrete frame with more nonunion personnel.

Exciting! Will it show if it's Option 1 or 2 at the top?

I agree, I like Opt 1 for the crown as well.

I'm not sure I understand those diagrams. In the "East Elevation" and "Northeast/Southeast" diagrams, Opt 1 and Opt 2 look the same, and are described the same... but in the "North Elevation" diagram, they're totally different, with Opt 2 completely exposed?

My gut is that "Structure + BMU" is simply a reference to the cutaway perspective, and that all options include the bronze and glass detailing on the crown.

They are still excavating and are down probably 40 feet. There must have been 10 people working with two excavators on the site on Wednesday afternoon. The same guy from last time was still being uncooperative about photography, so I couldn't get a good image.

Wait a minute! 1421 feet?! This will be not only the skinniest but also the tallest building in New York City (excluding One WTC's spire and if it beats the Nordstrom Tower) and the tallest residential building in the world! Forget about the others! This will be an engineering marvel like no other!

The detailing of the facade on this is going to be beyond impressive!

This is just beyond awesome. It's like all of NY's main iconic skyscrapers put into one.

Empire State Building's setbacks, Woolworth's terra cotta, Old WTC's thin columns and windows, New WTC's minimalist glass facade (North side), 432 Park's thinness, Beekman Tower's waviness, and those curved metal bits on the facade remind me of the Chrysler Building.
