Chris Christie Says He'll Fix NJ's Train Problems Once He's President

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who condemned his constituents to decades more of gridlock and crowded train platforms by pulling the plug on a Hudson River tunnel in 2010, after construction had begun, said he might, hypothetically, revisit the project. But first voters have to elect him president.

Yeah, right.

This should be considered blackmail.

While ARC DID have quite a few flaws, it would be much better to have something than to have nothing, which is what we'll have if he continues to have his way.

I noticed New Jersey Transit has instituted permanent cross-honoring, but how does this work in practice? Is this a fictional concept or do private bus lines actually abide by this edict?

Not sure which cross-honors you are referring to. Link, please?

You show the PATH or the Private Carrier your ticket...and you can use the service. Sometimes the private carriers will put up abit of a fight in accepting them...but if you push hard enough they do accept them. Sometimes the PATH is not fond of you using this route for a free either...

OK, that's what I was thinking. It seems it's a scam to get people to use private bus lines. I would imagine most commuters don't want to get in a fight with a burly New Jersey bus driver and would rather just pay the fare instead of put up an argument.

In my experience, it's quite easy to get the bus drivers to cross-honor fares.

Sometimes I wonder that... But the ones who put up a fight are the private carriers....and there isn't much spare capacity on any mode of transport here in North Jersey. So I can understand why... The other the Express bus was SRO by the fourth stop...
