Indeed , I don't know how they'll replace those tall towers. Its not as simple as the smaller ones...

Some of the lines do have underground cabling ,while others piggyback of nearby high voltage corridors like along some LIRR and MNRR lines...

Some peak hr trains continue onto Grand Central. But Most trains terminate at South Norwalk. Its similar to the New Canaan Branch which terminates at Stamford with limited Peak hr service directly to GCT or the Wassaic Branch which terminates at Southeast with limited service to GCT. LIRR has similar service patterns on the Oyster Bay , West Hempstead and Montuak Branches where service terminates at a mid point during the offpeak. NJT runs the entire line , with more express service during the rush hr.

Some older photos that I never posted here. I do plan on redoing these stations once the Fall Colors kick into high gear.

Valley residents left waiting at the station
By Michael P. Mayko Updated 12:03 am, Tuesday, September 22, 2015

Fernando Ferreira and Nancy Rivera know the trial of riding the rails to Bridgeport.

“If I miss this one,” said Ferreira, while boarding the 9:38 a.m. train in Ansonia, “the next one isn’t until 12:17 p.m. — that’s about three hours later.”

And if Ferreira misses the 5:57 p.m. train for his return home, he has to wait until 8:25 p.m. for the next one or find a friend to give him a ride home.

“It’s ridiculous,” said Ferreira, who rides daily to his job in Bridgeport. “The schedule needs to be more appropriate for workers.”

Which, according to Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti, means more trains traveling from Bridgeport to Waterbury.

“We need at least three more trains,” the mayor said. “We’re trying to build more apartments in our downtown. Those residents are going to need the train to get to and from work.”

[.....]
At the Bridgeport train station, Murphy made a pitch for $2 billion to repair, refurbish and increase service on the line, which carries at least 1,000 commuters a day between Bridgeport, Derby, Ansonia and Waterbury.
