Si Pellicano, potrebbero essere tranquillamente cattedrali...comunque ci sono per esempio le quasi 500 chiese di napoli o di roma tra cui scegliere per il tuo thread ad esempio...in confronto le 200 di milano quasi scompaiono...

Here you are a picture I found on the internet about the Certosa di Garegnano:

image hosted on flickr

from flickr user Mardiam40/gabriele

And two bonus video:

Many people does not know it but Milan is a very "shy" city, and the noblemen preferred to build their luxurious houses or palazzi with a rather plain (but elegant) facade, and in many cases stunning interiors. The courtyards, or cortile are very often gorgeous in Milan, and here you are two videos to show you why I call Milan "a city of cortili", because almost every palace has one or more of them!

first part (italian, but the images does not needs translations):

second part:

Thank you so much! the city is sooo underrated when people talks about it without even mentioning what is (to me at least) its main feature: art and history then, in the last century or so, came fashon design and whatever you want, but in a very complex and rich artistical and historical heritage

I'm now offering a very quiet and peaceful place in Milan, the cloisters of Santa Maria Maddalena al Cerchio, settled in the area of the ancient roman circus. It is now known as the monastery of the Umiliate order:

As I previously said, Milan is a Courtyard City, but also there are a lot of cloisters, amazing to discover in these springtime's sunny days!

Other cloisters:

Chiostri dell'Umanitaria, near Santa Maria della Pace church.

They are now used as a cultural space for meetings and conferences/concerts:
