Ministry of Culture works on preserving hertiage sites

Wednesday, 05 September 2012

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has concluded a three-day regional workshop on Harmonization of Cultural Heritage, and updating heritage sites in East African Countries.

The conference brought together representatives from nine African countries.

Speaking to Radio Miraya the undersecretary minister Jok Madut Jok, explained the purpose of the workshop.

"The main goal of the conference is to do leasing of the heritage site so, there are nine countries represented here, the meeting is being held in South Sudan because of the interest to assist us as the new country to begin to learn this practices of listing world heritage sites for South Sudan including natural site like the Boma park, like the Sudd region which is a vast region, the biggest in the world, Sweet Water Swamp and other sites including cultural sites like shrines and burial sites."

It all looks so fantastic.
I'm planning to visit Bandingalio NP next year. Can't wait!
Does anybody know if self drive safari is allowed there?

I have no idea whether self driving is allowed or not.......But, the road infrastructure is poor and that does require one to really know what they are doing in order to get around.
