This is why I hate Brickell
Because nothing ever happens around here. I mean.... it's dead! No city life or anything! IT'S JUST SO BORING!!!

I'm at The Lucky Clover and even though it's raining it's beautiful.

Yeah between those two block parties and a few others the whole downtown is like one big party. Urban life is back!

I got back from Brickell a little while ago. It was happening tonight. Packed. I will post the photos when I get a chance. For now it's time for bed. I'm probably going to be a little hungover tomorrow.

Same up here. Packed and crazy everywhere. Somewhere there's a Mitt Romney operative pounding sand in frustration because the economy is brightening and people are spending money again.
But maybe gas will go over 5 bucks a gallon to lift their spirits. When you work in the industry, St. Paddy's is known as 'amateur night.' HIGH maintenance and plenty of nonsense. But it's also lucrative after the last besotted guy in a green plastic hat is shown the door. Hope it was a fun one for all! |

You have become infected with Spell's sense of humor.

6 years ago none of these Irish Pubs existed in the neighborhood, now there are 5 in Brickell and they bring it for St. Paddy's! Celebrate the Irish with Latin America. It's been great to watch this grow over the past couple of years.

Always had it myself....that's what drew me to him!!! I could tell way back in 2005 he was infected with the same mental "condition" as me. It just took me 1000 posts or so to get warmed up. My therapist encourages me.....
Not sure that's a good thing...

yeah i wasn't out late enough to see all this going on but i was all around brickell yesterday, i went to the capital grille for the first time yesterday (AMAZING!) SUPER! fancy the food was impeccable they had paintings of people influential to miami on the wall and the cheesecake was to die for. Anyway i then took the mover to "museum park" to watch cavalia! the show was very good, but a little too slow for me. I prefer cirque de soleil, blue man group, and fuerza bruta! but the city was electric none the less and im glad to see how far we've come!

In any regard, my birthday weekend ended very nicely. Got taken to an insanely fancy/semi-secretive bar here in Philly and witnessed the kind of bartending artistry I thought had disappeared from this Earth. And thank God I didn't have to pay that tab! (it was Telly Savalas level) Here's to being a bit 'off.' Love you guys.

BTW....I love the movie COCKTAIL, more than most--was in love with Elisabeth Shue---it got a little depressing though. I have been to the bar in Cancun where the Mexican scenes were filmed. See you around (Miami Sports, where we can dump on the Dolphins)!!! |

St. Patrick's Day in Brickell is a boon for my green polo and khaki shorts business.

Even though the pics are nice...I still wonder where this kid is from? You also have to try to see it from the other person point of view...If I was to go to Buenos Aires right now...the city at night not to mention on the weekends would be crowded with people out and about...but then again..Is not fair to compare an 18+ million city to a 5.5 million like South FL. I am so used to lots of people being in the streets, eating, having dinner. etc...the only city that I can compare it to is NYC....and maybe SoBe during the weekend.

In ten or fifteen years, the vibrancy of downtown Miami today will seem dull and insignificant, but for now, it's hard not to get excited about our burgeoning downtown street life. We're still lagging behind most North American cities, not to mention cities on the other continents, but you can also see the seeds of a vibrant downtown are being planted.
