NEW YORK | Hotel Willow | 91m | 299ft | 29 fl | Com

Quote:
The hotel will have 250 guest rooms and include 46 luxury suites, with the project's architects having worked on both the Royalton and the Standard Hotel in the past. All in all, given the location, the design is quite appropriate--while rooms are certain to have a hefty price tag, the hotel's views will be minimal given its location along 57th. Still, the site represents a welcome addition to one of the city's fastest growing thoroughfares.

More activity along 57th! It's now above-grade, and I'll be by to take pictures of the work shortly.

It's okay looking nothing special . Hopefully what ever it's replacing doesn't look very good.

Thanks for the update. I'm not crazy about the blank walls facing East and West, but it's only 300 feet, the facade on this could be really interesting too, and the amount of development in NY is getting kind of ridiculous at this point.

Good progress. I don't think this is going to look out of place here.

The glass looks better than the renders! Thats probably the only saving grace of this rather forgettable project

I'm curious as to how the bare concrete side will be cladded... grey brick, maybe?

I finally got to check out the glass on this one yesterday for the first time in person, and it exceeded expectations. Looks like they are just about to top out too. My only gripe is that the building isn't taller. I'd love to see something with the height (and shape?) of the new Hyatt Times Square with this type of cladding... I think it could be spectacular. None the less, thats a good issue to have with this building. On to the photos...

Awesome texture for a modern building. Much better than an endless plane of glass. The brick work between floors is great. It is reminiscent of luxury loft space built from an old warehouse.
