Yes! From what I understand there was no controversy at all over the fact that nothing happened to him until weeks later when some radio programs starting talking about this and then more mainstream media picked this up and it became a controversy. The telephone calls really helped popularize this too.

I really hate how things are turning out to be all about race and Shit. Why can't it be a guy kill an unarmed teenager in Florida? Why must it be a white man killing an innocent black teen?? I know we're all demanding justice for Trayvon and it will happen once the case get underway. I just don't know why Trayvon parent and supporter must bring the race issue into this. I really hated when they use the term "we" (African-American/Black). Do they want to be classified into another category instead of American? Some of the comments made my the congresswoman and Rev. Sharpton sure sounded that way, it is almost racist.

Because they're convinced this is a case of racial profiling. It's something they deal with and you probably don't think much about. This was a kid with an iced tea, skittles and a hoodie on - why did he look so suspicious to Zimmerman? Why did he pursue him, why did he initiate a confrontation? That's why everyone's angry.

Especially against the advice of the police who said essentially said to let us handle this because Zimmerman was not a law enforcement agent. All he needed to do was follow the kid in his car back to his family's unit. The fact that he pursued the kid anyway and ended up killing him makes this a case of vigilantism. Why did Zimmerman have to get out of his vehicle to check the name of a street in a neighborhood in which he lived and had made himself responsible for patrolling? Why did he turn his back on a suspicious looking character allowing the boy to attack him? His story just doesn't hold water to me and his actions precipitated the kid's death against the advice of the police which is clearly on the 911 recording. Also, I would think in this day and age that it would be rather easy to determine who is actually calling for help on that 911 recording.

I think the president should address the nation regarding this and make an appeal for patience and calm because this is getting too close to being a threat to national security. We can't have riots breaking out all over the country over this and damage the economy any further.
