we have seen this before in early stages. i remember seeing models or renders with a 500m+ building in the background which is just a grey box as a place holder. it is crazy that this now even has a size taller than ping-an

I've heard again of the building yesterday in the fast construction china proposal which was mistaken for this, but didn't think it would be the building in that location we were waiting for! Anything on the building in front of Kingkey? looks like another supertall with a size of maybe ~350m

edit: just saw that the title also featured the second building as 300m+, so nevermind my question then

Reminds me of the Pudong Jin Mao, WFC and Shanghai Tower trio but with Shun Hing, Kingkey and this instead. Hopefully they'll be some more renders soon, wonder what made them choice that particular height though???

Shanghai is jealous now.

Monster proposals and decent skyscraper proposals pop up everywhere in China right now, except for Shanghai. Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Tianjin are leading all major projects right now. Don't get me wrong, I love the Shanghai Tower and I think it beats every other building in China right now in terms of beauty and uniqueness, but I'm worried that Shanghai is losing its status as the showpiece of the booming economy of China.

Don't be. Shanghai is a world class city which has more to offer than just huge skyscrapers. People in Shanghai need to develop a healthy relationship to their city, meaning they should be more confident. A few megatalls here and there don't make any city better (or worse for that matter). Be proud what you already have.

I think Big Both Shenzhen and Tianjin very strongest in future!!
Would Shanghai, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Chongqing nice a megatalls as soon
Hope Beijing, Suzhou, Nanjing, Kunming, Dalian, Chengdu, etc... will more build...
