BTW PLP's "Nexus" has already been rejected by Kingkey during the design competition from 2014-2015.

The final plan will be a slight modification on this design by OMA

So the height of this proposal was somewhere around 666-700m,is that still the case? or is the height limited to 600m above sea level like Ping an.

There is no flight path nearby, so 700m should be possible

I love the 666-700m box proposal. I hope there is not a 600m cap on the entire city of Shenzhen.

The new tower to replace the old Financial Mansion triplets is said to be "around 600m".

As the most recent sources say 600m for the OMA design shouldn't we move this to the megatall section now.

I suspect that the OMA tower is taller, probably around 650m or so. Its either that or the 730m tower has gotten a height decrease

This project makes me laugh After Pingan project failed, Shenzhen needs another "almost" megatall? 550 or 650m would be nice height, but 595?

We can move this to the megatall Forum. It is 700m:
http://www.sznews.com/m/?url=http://...t_13651354.htm
Also it isn't called Nexus since this was the name of the rejected design. Maybe we should combine this thread and China Gates thread and call it Caiwuwei Redevelopment again?
Hopefully they will get this approved!

Two Super-talls over 700M planned for Caiwuwei

Shenzhen Daily article dated July 28, 2016, Zhang Yang

Excerpts:
"TWO landmark buildings taller than 700 meters may be built in Caiwuwei area in Luohu District. A number of urban villages in the area will be demolished as part of an urban renewal project in the coming years, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported yesterday."
" Cai Hongliang, chairman of Caiwuwei Industrial Co. Ltd., said the company has set a timetable for the reconstruction of four urban villages in the area. The property developer will finish mapping the existing homes in these villages by Oct. 20, and it will sign compensation and resettlement agreements with homeowners by the end of this year.
Cai said the construction will start in the second half of next year, and it is expected to be completed within four years, meaning homeowners will be able to move into new homes as early as the end of 2021."
"Chen Min, deputy head of the urban renewal bureau in Luohu District, said the bureau had received Kingkey Real Estate’s planning application in May. He said the company plans to build two skyscrapers taller than 700 meters in the area, which may become new landmarks in Shenzhen. The proposal has been submitted to the city government for approval."

That article is wishfil thinking if I've ever seen one. Clearing a zone will take much longer woth people aiming to get the most out of their homes to be demolished. And there's always the nailhouse people that drag it put further. And construction of a 700m building in 4 years is crazy as well. this won't be finished by 2021.
