PROPERTY DEVELOPER Robinsons Land Corp. is set to further expand its mall portfolio in the Visayas by opening this November Robinsons Place Roxas, its first mall in Capiz, the company said in a statement yesterday.

“In November this year, Robinsons Place Roxas is scheduled to open in Roxas City, the ‘Seafood Capital’ of the Philippines,” the statement read.

“As the newest and largest first full-service mall in the area, it is envisioned to serve not only the 47 barangays of Roxas City, but also the 16 towns of Capiz province on Panay island as well.”

Currently, Robinsons Land’s malls in the Visayas are located in Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Cebu City, Negros Oriental, and Leyte, according to the company’s end-September 2012 financial report showed.
This will be the Gokongwei-led firm’s first mall in Roxas City.

OFFERINGS
“As the first full service mall in Roxas (City), Robinsons Place Roxas will bring the ultimate in shopping, lifestyle and business convenience under one roof. At Robinsons Place Roxas, we will offer both quality and affordability with a complete and assorted variety of well-known retail brands,” said Arlene G. Magtibay, Robinsons Land general manger for Commercial Centers Division, said in the statement.

Upon completion, the two-storey Robinsons Place Roxas, which will be located at the Pueblo de Panay commercial hub in Barangay Lawaan, will have 37,000 square meters in total floor area that will house Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Movieworld, Handyman Do-it-Best, and Robinsons Appliance Center, the statement read.

The mall will also have a food court, amusement center, and bingo activity center, as well as space for over a hundred retailers, four state-of-the-art cinemas with total capacity for 1,000 viewers, and a main atrium for local shows, events, exhibitions and other community gatherings, the statement added.

Robinsons Place Roxas’ exterior will sport tinted glass walls with beige and red designs, while full-height windows for natural lighting and Asian-themed green spaces are designed to offer environmentally friendly features, Robinsons Land said in the statement.

Ms. Magtibay also noted Robinsons Place Roxas’ accessibility to major city points. “The mall is just one kilometer away from Roxas City’s main plaza and is conveniently 200 meters away from an existing bus and AUV (Asian utility vehicle) terminal,” she said.

Robinsons Land, incorporated in 1980, is the property arm of listed conglomerate JG Summit Holdings, Inc. As of end-September last year, the company operated 32 shopping malls, 34 residential projects, eight office buildings, and nine hotels.

Robinsons Land and its subsidiaries are engaged in the business of selling, acquiring, building, developing, leasing and disposing of real properties such as land, buildings, shopping malls, commercial centers and housing projects, hotels and mixed-used property projects.

The company’s Commercial Centers Division, which handles malls, accounted for a bulk of the firm’s revenues. The division boosted its revenues by 11.63% to P6.43 billion in the fiscal year 2012 that ended September from P5.76 billion the previous year.

Robinsons Land posted a net income of P4.24 billion in its 2012 fiscal year, up 6.80% from P3.97 billion the previous year, fueled by higher revenues from its commercial, office, and hotel units despite a slowdown in its residential business. Revenues climbed by 5.54% to P13.52 billion from P12.81 billion, while costs expanded by 13.33% to P7.14 billion from P6.30 billion.

Shares of Robinsons Land gained 10 centavos or 0.47% to P21.50 apiece yesterday from P21.40 last Friday. -- FJGDLF

MANILA, Philippines - Robinsons Malls continues to expand and build new developments throughout the country. In November this year, Robinsons Place Roxas is scheduled to open in Roxas City, the ‘Seafood Capital’ of the Philippines.

As the newest and largest first full-service mall in the area, it is envisioned to serve not only the 47 barangays of Roxas City, but the 16 towns of Capiz province in Panay Island as well.

The mall will be situated at the northern portion of Pueblo de Panay, an emerging commercial development in Brgy. Lawaan in the outskirts of Roxas City. Consisting of a two-level commercial structure with a total floor area of 37,000 square meters, the mall will have anchor tenants like Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, food court, Robinsons Movieworld, Handyman Do-it-Best, Robinsons Appliance Center, an amusement center and a bingo activity center.

In addition, over 100 home, clothing and fashion, jewelry and accessory, music and video, footwear and specialty stores, fast-food and casual dining restaurants will be housed in the mall. And for the added convenience of shoppers, other tenants will include bookstores, banks and government agencies.

Notably, the mall will feature four state-of-the-art cinemas (three digital and one 3D) that can seat over 1,000 moviegoers. These will be equipped with the latest digital technology for an enhanced viewing experience.

“As the first full service mall in Roxas, Robinsons Place Roxas will bring the ultimate shopping, lifestyle and business convenience under one roof,” says Arlene G. Magtibay, Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) general manager for Commercial Centers Division.

“At Robinsons Place Roxas, we will offer both quality and affordability with a complete and assorted variety of well-known retail brands.”

The spacious mall is designed to be a community hub and a large main atrium is incorporated in the building design. This is an ideal venue for a variety of local shows, events, exhibitions and other community gatherings
.

Robinsons Place Roxas mall is a regional shopping center of exceptional aesthetic appeal. Its external façade has tinted glass curtain walls and attractive horizontal banding in beige hues with red color wall accents. Full height showcase windows allow mall-goers to take advantage of natural lighting, and green spaces will be strategically placed throughout the development. These will follow an Asian tropical landscaping design, where areas will be predominantly planted with tropical palms. The 800-space open parking area, too, will be landscaped to follow the theme.

Magtibay says that accessibility is foremost. “The mall is just one kilometer away from Roxas City’s main plaza and is conveniently 200 meters away from an existing bus and AUV terminal”. She adds that for those from outlying areas who want to spend more time in Roxas City, Hotel Veronica, Cler Grand Hotel and Urban Manor Hotel are nearby.
