Well, I did'nt go there. These are pics from PDPU and ISR across the river. But yeah, I zoomed in and counted the number of floors. The floor count is 15 while the core is on 17th floor level. Same with QC2.

A floor a week: Work moving fast at two towers

LINK

Ahmedabad: The announcement of GIFT Urban Development Authority has come at the appropriate time. Two major towers located in the SEZ area, which are poised to be 29 storeyed each, have achieved their respective benchmarks.

In the last six months, developers have already constructed 17 floors in one of the buildings while the second building already has seven floors. Sources in the urban development department claim that each of the floors is being constructed in seven days. It was only in March last year that GIFT Company Ltd became the official owners of a large tract of land in Shahpur.

“GIFT authorities are aiming at readying the first tower by August 15, but the status will be clear by mid-July,” said an official.

In May 2010, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) had cleared the height of 120 metres for GIFT City buildings. An official said that in the first phase of the project the developers will construct 14 million square feet of space, including the two towers.

GIFT officials had earlier told TOI there will be provisions for two schools, up to the senior secondary levels. One will be affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and the other to International Baccalaureate.

Another GIFT Company Limited official said it is wrongly believed that electricity will be costlier in GIFT SEZ.

He said the company will actually offer power at a rate lower than what is prevalent in the rest of the state.

GIFT has close to Rs 11,700 crore worth of MoUs to show. IL&FS, which is the principal developer, was to develop a total carpet area of 7.77 million square feet initially and pump in Rs 3,000 crore worth of investments.

amazing updates .... thanks Gandhi Rushabh

I don't know any one has noticed one thing or not that these both the towers will be ready by august and we can have both towers functional before VG-13 and as Modi is planning to show Gujarat and its especially his dream projects businessmen visiting the summit will also see its development and government's dedication on ground rather than on papers so more & more companies will make their investment here and may we have some good news of giant national/international IT or any other companies shifting their regional centers here.
May Dholera SIR's updates be unveiled at that time. Also hope for RoRo ferry service by Jan13.

GoG is also in talks with several airlines for starting their air services within the state before VG-13 so the investors can visit the investment regions within their short stay in Gujarat.

As VG is after elections so investors will be more firm in their investments.

If central elections arrives before time and Modi elevated to Center then we can also see large amount of PSUs making investment in Gujarat and also more connectivity for Gujarat.

Around 90 days to go before the deadline...

QC1 needs around 90 days, so it is on schedule but QC2 still needs 110 days at its current speed of 5 days/floor. August 15 looks doubtful for QC2.

Or may be they can accelerate the construction as we once noticed on one of the towers that it was much faster than 7dpf? Perhaps.

QC2 was supposed to be 5 dpf but they seemed to have slowed down a bit.

If we did'nt know about the August 15 deadline, I think most of us were expecting the towers to be completed by late 2012. It's like they raised their potential and we raised our expectations

Recently uploaded onto flickr, says they were taken yesterday.

To me, it looks like

QC1: 17 floors completed, working on 18th, started on 19th
QC2: 9 floors completed, working on 10th

Two towers currently under construction leased out already. I read some where in news that there are already occupants waiting to get their work started in tower. Do you know who is coming in new tower? I assume some national and private banks.

Number of workers at site justify that work is going in full fledge... hope to see something good coming up in near future...

There aren't many workers there possibly due to the Bharat Bandh.

When I first saw this project on this site way back in 2007, no matter how much I wanted to believe that it would actually get built, I never could. After all, this is India.

I am simply amazed at the progress today.

Hello everyone! Truly this thread is amazing. I was desperately looking for updates on the construction progress. Everyone's contribution is awesome. I want to know
1) are they working all night also?
2) is there any reason why they are not starting work on other buildings simultaneously by employing more work force?
Thankyou!
