SANTA MARIA DELLA VITTORIA

Santa Maria della Vittoria (St. Mary of the Victory) is a small baroque Basilica church in Rome, on Via XX Settembre. The masterpiece in the Cornaro Chapel, to the left of the altar, is Ecstasy of St. Teresa by Scipione's favored sculptor, Bernini.

the position of this cathedral is rather unfair, overshadowed by huge skyscrapers...
but hey, this a wonderful cathedral! Always loved the english gothic interior!

Saint Patrick's Cathedral is based on the cathedrals of Amiens and Cologne, which you can see in the front, with the towers and the gable I didn't saw the church 5 years ago when I was 10 and we went to New York, but next time all visit the church There's also a less beautiful Saint Patrick's Old Cathedral a few blocks away from this one

and never forget the very close Saint John the Divine, it is really huge and when finished will be amazing!

Gorgeous A'dam! City of canals!
Just a little OT, sorry!
I wish someday we will reopen our canals also here in milan...once Amsterdam and Milan were pretty similar from that point of view...
Just a question: do you think canals are a problem in a modern metropolis from public transport? I guess that they are completely bearable, but many people here argues that they aren't exactly easy to deal with... thanks!

I don't really think canals are a problem in a modern metropolis, I mean, there goes a lot of transport over water, or by boat. But if you make a good plan for a project to re-open the canals and by not blocking the transport over the road, I think you can make a good combination

Domkerk of Saint Martin, Utrecht

With 112 meters high, the Dom van Utrecht has the highest belltower of the Netherlands. In de tower are hanging 14 bells (exclusive the carillon), the biggest bell, Salvator, with 8000 kg is also one of the heaviest bells in Holland and was made in 1505 by Geert van Wou.

De Domtoren en the Domkerk were sepparated during the hurricane of 1674, which also destroyed the spire of the Jakobikerk, and the towers of the Saint Pieterskerk and the Saint Janskerk.

Nowadays you can climb to an hight of 105 meters and have a look over the big city and surrounding area's and with good weather you can see Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Amersfoort and even Dordrecht.

Lausanne | Cathedral Notre-Dame de Lausanne

The Cathedral of Notre Dame in Lausanne was built between 1170 and 1240 in the gothic style, with the western portal completed later in the flamboyant style.

The medieval architect Villard de Honnecourt drew the rose window of the south transept in his sketchbook of 1270.
Restoration was carried out in 1874 by Viollet Le Duc. WIKIPEDIA

Some Cathedrals in Nicaragua

Cathedral of León (Nicaragua):
In spanish the complete name of this cathedral is: Insigne y Real Basílica Catedral de la Asunción de la Bienaventurada Virgen María de la ciudad de León Santiago de los Caballeros (Real and renowned Basilica Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary). The Cathedral was awarded World Heritage Site status with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The Cathedral's construction lasted between 1747 and 1814 and was consecrated by Pope Pius IX in 1860. Since then, the cathedral of León has maintained the status of being the largest cathedral in Central America and one of the most known in the Americas due to its Baroque style of architecture.
