Catedral de São Pedro de Alcântara (St. Peter of Alcantara Cathedral) is located in Petrópolis, near Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. The church has Imperial mausoleum which has the remains of Former Emperor Dom Pedro II, Empress Teresa Cristina, their daughter Isabel, Princess Imperial and her husband, Prince Gaston, Count of Eu. Prince Pedro de Alcântara and his wife Countess Elisabeth Dobržensky de Dobrženicz are also buried there. The monarch's tomb was carved in Carrara marble in 1925. The construction began in 1884 and was completed in 1925, with the Tower being built in 1969.

Catedral Metropolitana Ortodoxa is a cathedral located at 1515 Vergueiro in Paraíso, Vila Mariana, São Paulo, Brazil. The Eastern Orthodox church, dedicated to Saint Paul, is home to the Antiochian Orthodox Catholic Archdiocese of Brazil. It one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world. Catedral Metropolitana is a fine example of Byzantine architecture.

Construction of the cathedral began in the 1940s, inspired by the Hagia Sophia, and built under the supervision of Paul Taufick Camasmie. Joseph Trabulsi was personally selected by King Farouk of Egypt to participate in its decoration, as were several Russian artists and contractors. One of the distinctive architectural characteristics of this building, when compared to other Orthodox churches, is that the iconostasis is made of marble, rather than wood.

I'd be interested in seeing more photos of small town / village / dwelling churches and chapels if possible . Although the other ones are okay too, but I think it would be interesting to see how village people treated their religious structures.

That's quite a detailed church for such a small village. According to wiki, 31 inhabitants. Did the village have a more glorious past?

The sister churches at Gran in Norway. The largest church, Nikolaikirken, was buitl in the second half of the 12th century while the smaller one, Mariakirken, was built at some point before 1150.

The ruins of the burned St. Sava Cathedral on West 25th Street, when the FDNY investigation was still ongoing. Please consider donating to the Cathedral's congregation at their time of need via their GoFundMe campaign.

St. Giragos Armenian Church, Amed (Turkified as Diyarbakir), Turkey

Church was destroyed during Armenian Genocide, but Kurds and Armenians restored it (Amed/Diyarbakir is a Kurdish city in Turkey). Before and after pictures.

The church was once of the largest and most important Armenian churches in the Middle-East. It also has seven altars, whereas most other churches in the world have only one. Some parts of the church are lost forever. The church used to be larger (look at roof).

Amed/Diyarbakir has many other churches. In fact, apparently the oldest church in existence is also located in this city (St. Mary Church).
