In south of the City, border the Leman lake (Geneva lake), will be built a football (soccer) stadium (15'000 places), an olympic cover swimming pool, and a complex of building (mixed workplace/housing).

The site is ideally served by a subway station, a highway, and bus lines. Near the University of Lausanne and the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne (EPFL), and banks of Lake Geneva with its many green spaces.

Architect: GMP Architekten from Berlin and Jean-Baptiste Ferrari & Associés from Lausanne

Actually: preparation for construction sites (archaeological excavation)

Are they finally going to proceed with this development? They have been talking about that for many years now. Lausanne is the Olympic Capital so it really deserves a new stadium and a nice area like this one.

Yes, but the city will take a long time to build this stadium, as it will be ready only in 2020 according to the authorities!!

The "Olympic" Stadium in La Pontaise still has a long service to be rendered to ensure the championship football and athletics meeting Athletissima. This stadium built in 1955 don't correspond to any standard, and must be partially transformed for to be used until 2020. A peak!

Capacity: 15,850 places

Entrance

Gymnaestrada 2011

The stadium, built for the World Cup football 1955 in Switzerland, had a capacity of 50,000 seats at the origin. This shot is famous, representing the police authority (one man holding 50,000 people!)
