I'm not getting why you think our data backbone, 99, multiple streets, and a big chunk of our local economy aren't useful to Seattle residents in general.

Tourists will pay, because the businesses they spend money on will pay.

The state, the port, etc., are sharing costs for 99 and direct mitigation. The City's share in the combined projects is relatively limited.
Touche. We could continue to beat this dead horse, although, if you do think Seattle residents should solely pay for it, then I think the city needs to work it in their routine cap ex budget somehow instead of placing an additional tax. Considering 99 is a state route, it wouldn't hurt if the state contributed either. I wonder how far the impacts of a severed data backbone would go geographically. Maybe those affected should have to put up more funding for the improvements.

I remember when stuff like that was called "Public Works" and was aptly named.

The state is paying $2.1 billion for 99 and some of the related work. The port is planning to pay $300m. Or something like that. This seems like an appropriate level of sharing to me.

It will be interesting to see if this passes. If it doesn't pass, I wonder where the funds will come from.

I'm amused Republicans have kept up the "Inslee is a quitter!" attack.

Pretty sure none of them had a problem when my State Senator, Dino Rossi, quit to run for Governor.

lol politics!

Jay Inslee drove bulldozers in Bellevue. AND his mom was a teacher.

Also, he understands the issues, in particular, the property tax swap.

Nate Silver uses those "facts" I keep hearing about. And everyone knows facts are for f**s.

The Fox Nooz set might wanna get their magical polling data here: http://unskewedpolls.com/

Nate Silver is using polls that significantly over sample Ds in a year when EVERYONE admits O has an enthusiasm problem. No way he matches or betters '08 turnout. There's nothing wonky about that.

Ds did this same shit to themselves before the 2010 landslide election and again during the WI recall...

What is your evidence that he's selectively picking pro-D polls?

Read the cross-tabs. He's added Rass for good measure. Nate Silver is commonly referred to as Dem Xanax for a reason.

No need to spend a lot if time arguing/discussing the accuracy of Nate Silver's data. We will know Tuesday evening.

I will Do a screen shot Monday Night on 538. I'm thinking it'll be pretty accurate.
