Breaking - North Korea launches Rocket

DEVELOPING - North Korea launched a rocket Friday, US officials confirm, in what the U.S. and its allies consider an attempt to test long-range missile technology.

U.S. officials tell Fox News that there are early indications that the launch wasn't fully successful.*

The launch window was scheduled during a week aimed at celebrating Sunday's centennial birth of Kim Ill Sung, the country's late founder.*

The United States, Japan, Britain, Russia and others say the launch would be a provocation and would violate U.N. Security Council resolutions banning North Korea from developing its nuclear and missile programs. Experts say the Unha-3 carrier is similar to the type of rocket that could be used to fire a missile mounted with a nuclear warhead to strike the U.S. or other targets.

North Korea denies that the launch is anything but a peaceful civilian bid to send a satellite into space. The Kwangmyongsong-3 satellite is designed to send back images and data that will be used for weather forecasts and agricultural surveys.

North Korean logic(or Fox News trolling, who knows):
Title says: NK launches a rocket, then you read an article, and it says they failed to do it.

Title should be different, but ok.

As Putin should have said:
-"What happened with the rocket?" -"It sunk"

The guy in charge was filmed before the launch looking nervous and going into a room to give some kind of press conference. No sign of him since.

Its pretty standard that first attempts at these sorts of things fail. Within the next couple of launches they should get it right.

Not their first attempt, their second with this class of rocket. Theyve got pretty good at short range rockets but continuing to spectacularly fail when you add the complication of multiple stages.
