the name suggests that they want to have the building finished by 2014, at least the exterior and being topped out, similar to what london did with the shard.

It's China. Expect to see an entire city getting build there in the coming next years.

your probally right, but i feel if your going to build these tall buildings they should be in..center city not spread out so much, but i doubt the demands even their for all these buildings, but i do like a few of them, like shanghai tower, the one in guanzhaou or watever

This is located at Hexi New City which is the new CBD for Nanjing, it's by the Yangtze so from the current angle it appears to be in the middle of no where, trust me it's not. How else would you explain where the pictures were taken? They are from other skyscrapers in the area. This is already the third supertall in Hexi, the other two are the 328m Nanjing WTC and the 400m Suning Tower, all three are within a kilometer of each other.

The building under construction next to Shanghai Tower is Oriental Financial Center. The "plot" next to Jinmao is reserved green belt and no skyscraper will be built there.

I don't think Filipe understands that demand can be a gradual thing. As the local economy matures and grows, the empty offices from these towers will eventually be filled. It may look like the middle of nowhere right now, but China is fast. In 10 years, it may be a new city center! Examples: Not even 20 years ago, Pudong was a barren place in Shanghai. Now it is filled with business. Shenzhen 20 years ago was a large patch of grass. Now it is a megacity of 10 million people. Come back to this thread in 10 years and see if this place is still in the middle of no where!

when i say that the demand really isn't there, im talking about now, and basically you just agreed with me, if its gradual or not the demand for all these projects isnt their, really there building it for show, and what im saying is, they should focus on a city center not these buildings plopped in a random place, like that one tall building in nanjing, this should be near it, not so far out
