Churches from Naples:

I was wondering about opening a thread for naples' churches like i did for my city, milan: in naples are counted stricto sensu 448 monumental churches, so a little bit more than the double of the ones we might find in milan, and toghether with Rome (and not so distantiated to) it is by far the city with the highest number of monumental churches in the world. So here you are a first taste to monumental naples, a city that did not gave to the world only beautiful opera pieces, gelato and pizza but also one of the highest amount of art humanly tolerable ;)
The vast majority of these churches (except very very few, we're talking about 3 or 4 churches) I will show you are stiffed in the 17 square kilometers area of the Historical City centre of Naples, the biggest in the world, even bigger than the one in Rome. It is a UNESCO world heritage site.

...and with this one we're 197 I guess, a little less than a half of the total number of the 448 monumental and historical churches in Naples, the "city of 500 domes", as it was once known, I think it is enough for a first approach to this city and I hope you liked it! :D

^^ thank you soo much! Yes, artistically this city is really a gem, even if not so touristically known or valorized as it really should be (given its monster potential) at least for the moment. But I'm sure things will change very soon! ;)
