They should expand here first before expanding abroad.

Cirtek eyes acquisitions abroad

By Zinnia B. Dela Peña
(The Philippine Star)
Updated June 08, 2012 12:00 AM Comments (0)

Manila, Philippines - Laguna-based chip maker Cirtek Holdings Philippines Corp. is expanding horizons with plans to acquire two outsourced semiconductor assembly and test companies in Malaysia and Thailand.

Cirtek chief financial officer Anthony Buyawe said the company is currently conducting due diligence on the two firms.

Antonio Callueng, senior director for sales at Cirtek, said the proposed acquisitions were endorsed by the company’s major accounts and in line with its aim to further boost revenues.

Cirtek is eyeing $4.2 million (P180.6 million) in additional annual revenues from new orders.

Of the projected additional revenues, $2.2 million will come from new customers, mostly engaged in the telecommunications sector. Among the new clients include Anadigics and RFMD.

The balance of $2 million will come from existing Cirtek customers Semtech, Maxim, Exar, EM and Cambridge.

With the new orders, Cirtek should be operating at capacity and fully utilizing its plant located at the Laguna Technopark until the end of the year.

Buyawe said the additional orders will improve the company’s revenues this year versus its projections.

The company earlier approved the declaration of cash dividends, amounting to around P34 million, and 20 percent in stock dividend.

Some Bench products are unfortunately now made in China (polos, shoes, wwatches, plastic products). But T-shirts, jeans and perfumes and colognes are still locally made in Cavite and Manila by Suyen Corp. (subsidiary of Bench) They are not anymore proudly Pinoy. Ben Chan has followed the footstep of his family, The Liwayway Group, for bringing Oishi brand in China.

Oxygen is a brand name under Penshoppe. Another world class Pinoy brand.

Accel, World Balance and some local rubber shoes brand sold by direct selling company Natasha and Boardwalk are the only remaining local brands left.
About Zenco Footstep, buhay pa po siya. Meron po niyan dito sa Kalibo, Aklan at sa Baguio along Session Road (pag papunta ka sa baba, sa right side).

Nepa Q-Mart brings alot of nostalgia about the good old days of Philippine nationalist industrialization.

$19 dollars for a bucket of chicken joy (12 pieces)
$6.75 for a Fiesta Noodle with soda (i'm guessing Palabok)
$3.50 for peach mango pie

ihawan is definitely one of the better restaurants in woodside ... even though some of the waitresses are completely rude. i don't know why they don't fire them and replace them. i wanna try ihawan 2 with the sushi bar though

Whenever my 14 year old son is feeling nostalgic about the Jollibee he tasted when he was a child we easily succumbed and price is never a problem.

I went there with my son last Tuesday at 3pm and we spent a long time waiting in line inside the restaurant because it was raining all day.

The tapsilog is really good and this resto is patronized by mostly kabayan during the day.
After dark it becomes a hip club with a sizeable number of non-Pinoy regulars enjoying their drink.

I'm glad I have never encountered any of those rude miseras whenever I drop by to pick up for food to go which is as often as 3-4 x a week.

yeah especially the one old lady who took my order last time. we were finishing looking at the menu when she came and she was like "oh, you are not even ready ... im going." i was like wtf, you shouldn't be working with that attitude. just go to their yelp page, they're known for having bad customer service....

especially since filipino restaurants are very rare, if you have one of the few good restaurants staffed with crappy people like that, you're putting a bad image for filipinos ...

I haven't gone back to that awful restaurant for three years. I also experienced a horrible service over there when the salmon I ordered was not simply undercooked - it was literally frozen cold deep inside and had them cooked it again after I had a nibble.

Then, yes, the old lady had the nerve to threaten me to call the cops for not giving them tip after what they did to my food which is quite embarrassing for bringing my non-Filipino friends over that place.

I told that lady that I will report them to the IRS if they don't give me a receipt so I can 1099 their ass. They left us alone.
