AARHUS | Urban Mediaspace Aarhus | U/C

The construction project Urban Mediaspace Aarhus is part of the transformation of Aarhus inner harbour from industrial harbour to urban space. Mediaspace will become Aarhus’ new Main Library and Citizens’ Services. The house will be 26,500 m2 spread over three floors.

The project consists of following elements:

- Urban Mediaspace Aarhus
- Waterfront spaces
- Automatic car park
- Opening of the remaining part of Aarhus River

Urban Media Space Aarhus and the car park are scheduled for the end of 2014 while the waterfront spaces and the rest of the project will be completed at the end of 2015.

The architectural firm schmidt hammer lassen architects are lead consultants on the project and are associated with Alectia A/S and Arkitekt Kirstine Jensens Tegnestue (AKJT) as sub-consultants. Schmidt hammer lassen architects have designed Mediaspace while Arkitekt Kirstine Jensens Tegnestue (AKJT) designed the waterfront spaces. Rambøll Denmark is the building consultant on the project.

Great videos. Maybe You could cut out periods where there is no activity, from 5 in the evening to 7 in the morning and weekends?

Hope You will continue to make this videos. Indeed interesting to follow the development.

Really cool video. Hope like Thomas that you will exclude the dormant periods on the site in the evening and night when you release the final video showing the whole construction process. Of course the editing will take many hours.

What really striked me more than the actual constrcution is the 24/7 activity at the container terminal in the background. It is amazing to see the cranes moving and lifting in high speed.

I am sure C.F.Møller, who are the tenents of the top floors would allow Scyscrapercity members to take photos from their terrace.

I took this photo from that terrace a number of years ago

and a rendering in the "opposite" direction.

I moved Ngus post regarding the name contest to the Urban Media space thread, guess it belongs her..

Quote:
This must be something for Skyscrapercity people!!

Find a name for the new Multimediia building.

http://www.urbanmediaspace.dk/inddra...se/navneproces

The whole day (also at work ) I have given thoughts about the name and the competition for the library, and it has been a tough nut to crack this one, and the critics from Ramblersen were spot on, and agree what in all he said concerning my previous proposals.

Proposal no.4
Aarhus Heptagon

En heptagon (græsk, af hepta = syv), eller en syvkant, betegner indenfor geometrien en regelmæssig polygon med syv sider.

Proposal no.5
InformationsPort Aarhus

Reference til den maritime beliggenhed i havnen ved ordet Port = Havn

Proposal no. 6
Port Medium Aarhus
