And because of that architectural & historic integrity we can fairly say that Krakow is the most beautiful city in Poland.

Vilnius has the largest Old Town (359ha) in this part of Europe. However, not the whole area is worth visiting due to many awful reconstructions and modern infills. BTW, its historic centre is on the UNESCO list (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/541/), but it doesn't say if it covers the entire Old Town.

Wroclaw Old Town borough is really huge (680ha), when compared to the other Polish cities. Nevertheless, it has so many horrid and plain buildings, commie blocks that most of it is an eyesore.

I've always wanted to visit Biecz. Did you actually go there? and if yes, did you like it overall? It's not far from Krakow.

I've never been to Biecz, but I know that town is charming because of the rich history and remaining parts of city walls with 3 watch towers.

Is there any impressive walled city in Poland, comparable with Carcassonne (France), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Naarden (Netherlands), Avila (Spain), Rothenburg ob der Tauber (Germany), York (England), etc.?

For example...

I know that most of the Torun's city walls have been dismantled in 19th century (the same with Krakow and Gdansk).

Torun (all city walls from photographs below don't exist today)

Amazing I'd love to see more reconstructions in Poland...

BTW, medieval town of Carcassonne (including magnificent walls) have been also reconstructed (yes, the same "fake, Disneyland" as Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Poznan, Kalisz, etc.) by Eugene Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century (not everyone know that).

Maybe not that impressive, but Jasna Góra in Częstochowa has nice walls.

Zamosc looks a bit like Naarden (or any other of around 50 preserved star forts in Netherlands)...

Gdansk, Krakow, Torun and other Polish cities would have been so much nicer with preserved walls and 17th-18th century layout (of course, to some extent). I assume that most of the city walls have been demolished during partitions of Poland.

Are there any plans of replacing these fugly commie blocks with some nice reconstructions in the Stargard Old Town?
