Katowice maybe for 10 years. And not for classic, historicla architecture, but modern. Rest of GOP... Maybe Gliwice for 15 and Bytom for 30.

I was wondering why historical reconstructions are regarded as unattractive, fake Disneyland, etc.? Many people will find Kalisz (rebuilt after WW1), Warszawa, Gdansk, Wroclaw or Poznan (all have been rebuilt to some extent after WW2) very charming.
They are only Disneyesque when they are incorrectly done, historically accurate reconstructions or even entirely new builds that adhear to the principles of traditional architecture have nothing whatsoever to do with Disneyland. This term is often used by so called "modernists" to deride anything that reflects the past - in some cases they are absolutely right but they don't differentiate between good and bad because they follow an agenda, mostly as a smoke screen, to cover their total inadequacy to design anything of lasting quality or beauty.

I've only been to Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk and Lublin. The Main Market Sqaure of Krakow was something else, but my personal favourite is Gdansk mainly because the closeness to the Baltic combined with beautiful architecture.

Those modern buildings in Katowice above look quite ok, but they also seem to show how modern car oriented architecture leads to absolutely dead cities. On the brigth side however, the city looks at least pretty green.

all the numbers aren't in yet, 2012 has been a poor year, but Poznan is near 100 now and Wroclaw and Krakow may add about 10 each by year end, we;ll see. Autumn is good for restoration work
