Tarnów is known as destination for one-day trips for Jews and single tourists. But still is not so popular and one of many undiscovered beautiful, historical cities in Poland.

Krakow, Breslau and Lodz... So many, but these are our favorites.

Chill out sometimes. So what about Warsaw? There is no Warsaw only Warszawa, right? In this world there are some languages that have a difficulty to pronounce Polish words and the languages has some substitues for Cities.
Gdnask - Dazig, Wroclaw - Breslau, Krakow - Cracov and so on.
Every language has it.
take care

Wrocław and Gdańsk. Krakow is overrated, and Warsaw tragic.

Very cool are small village in the Polish mountains (Sudetes and Carpathians), which is the entire southern Polish.

well, is not that simple in my opinion. As long as particular city's name resembles particular time in history, calling wrocław breslau doesn't make any sense. Those are simply different cities in terms of identity. Breslau doesn't exist any more whether you accept it or not as well as Lviv is not Lwów nowadays. And for sure is not only a lingual issue or problem with pronunciation.

No. Katowice will be called "Kattowitz" by German speaking people. In the same way as all Polish speaking people use "Kolonia" instead of Köln, "Rzym" instead of Rome, etc.

Krakow is definitely not overrated, but Wroclaw and Gdansk are really underrated and amazing cities like Torun and Lublin are not even known that well. I agree about southern Poland, hundreds of beautiful towns and villages.

Rome/Roma (german: Rom) has this name for over 2000 years now and I'm pretty sure this is a different city than in times of Roman Empire and the difference is much larger than between german Breslau and polish Wroclaw.
It is the most normal thing in the world that peoples have different names for cities which are connected with their history. And "phonetical monsters" like Szczecin do not make it easier to adopt the names that are used by their current inhabitants.
