My Top 5 - Krakow (historical capital of Poland, beautiful architecture and historic buildings, untouched during WWII), Lublin (a unique kind of architecture called Lublin Renaissance, city wasn't destroyed much in WWII), Torun (the largest number of preserved Gothic houses in Poland, survived WWII largely intact), Zamosc (an exceptional example of a Renaissance town, not destroyed during WWII), Przemysl (a lovely town situated on seven hills, not destroyed during WWII).

History has not been kind to Poland's architecture and it's really hard to find well-preserved cites.

I guess this kind of architecture is just a matter of taste. I don't really like it (it's far too simple), and most tourists will agree with me. I've seen many beautiful cities in France, Italy or Germany without tower blocks. Do you know any city in Poland over 50k without them?

BTW, in Belfast (New Lodge), we have large blocks as well

Bad area to live in (high crime rate)...

I've read that best thing for the New Lodge would be to demolish the tower blocks (bad housing) and re-house on the outskirts of Belfast somewhere.

I have seen Krakow this June and so far its one of the nicest cities I have seen in Europe and the most beautiful of Poland.
