Looks like the area is going to get some more hotel rooms and apartments as well.

South I-Drive poised to take off with tourism

The Wawa, Walgreens, Panera, etc mentioned in this article were covered in a blog entry I did back in April

In what form are they expanding and reentering these same markets, as outlets?

Ok, so Alta is the apt complex at Lake Eve. That other condo tower is right there as well.

Interesting how Sea World is marketing the nearby hotel properties.

New Building proposed for Orlando. I say the outlook for this city is indeed heading in the right direction.

http://www.groworlando.org/2012/06/w...f-orlando.html

Looking at the old Metroplan for these buildings, they were suppose to be two

29 story and 362 ft tall with 469,969 sq ft. (combined).
So if were talking about 1 single 30 story building with 450,000 sq ft to 500,00 sq ft. This either might be a new tallest or very well close to it. SunTrust Orlando is 441 ft with 654,678 sq ft of space. and only 35 stories.

World Trade Building(s)

Old World Trade Center - Two 29 story 362 ft tall 469,969 Sq ft.buildings.

New World Trade Center - 30 stories (height unknown) 450,000 - 500,000 sq ft.building.

Comparable Buildings

SunTrust Orlando - 35 Stories 441 ft. 654,678 sq ft

Park Tower Tampa - 36 Stories 460 ft.

Rivergate Tower Tampa - 31 Stories 454 ft. 515,965 sq ft

110 Tower Ft. Lauderdale - 30 Stories 410 ft. <------ My guess!
Sabadell Financial Center Miami - 31 Stories 430 ft.
Courthouse Center Miami - 30 Stories 405 ft.

I looked throw a cycle of buildings in Florida and this one gives me an idea of the height we can expect with the new World Trade Center. Again nobody knows how they are going to build it. Whether it be slim or wide we can expect to see between 375ft to 430 ft. (My honest guess)

I could be wrong though.

Orange & Robinson: NW corner parcel: just south of BOA; surface parking and a bank teller I think. could be a footprint similar in size to BOA.

It is also 1/2 block from the Sunrail Central Sta development.

I was thinking the same thing. I assume my height is in the 400 ft to 430 ft range.

Anyhow construction could start this fall.

But, regarding the rest, I think it is going in the right direction.

Fun Spot and Festival Bay: together both of those expansions/renovations will bring good redevelopment to north-Idrive.

Also, the I-Drive Live project/Mercado... that really needs to get started; that vacant land is a huge black eye down there.

There's another project out there flying under the radar though:

They began construction on what appears to be a new bridge over I-4 that they talked about back in 2006ish that will connect I-Drive to Palm Parkway right where Floridays Resort is on I-Drive and right where the Hilton Vacation Club two tower project is on Palm Parkway.

They were supposed to do the same thing to connect Oakridge Rd. to Major Blvd. near Universal.

I knew I was right . I figured they were talking about a second expansion.

The Expansion of Orlando Prime Outlet -$1300 Per sq ft, 80,000 sq. ft.= Approx $100 Million

My prognostication as to the likelihood of certain projects. See if any of you agree:

HIGHLY LIKELY: FEC rail, Skyhouse, Creative Village Phase I, Rida development

LIKELY: Magic mixed-use complex

NOT LIKELY: World Trade Center

Feel free to critique and add to the list.

Yes by Disney lol sorry I should have clarified. I thought I did by saying premium as I refer the one near Oak Ridge as Prime (Like they were in the old days)

I'll do my take on it too!

HIGHLY LIKELY: FEC RAIL, OBX, Sky House, Rida, Lymmo Expansions, DPAC, SunRail

LIKELY: Magic Mixed-Use Complex, World Trade Center

UNLIKELY: Creative Village

Like yourself I'm mixed about World Trade but I'll remain optimistic. I was not on board with creative village at all.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about the Creative Village. I think the Ustler group has something to do with it though... And the WTC project- I guess I just don't know that much about it beyond the posting earlier in this thread with all that info. If built, that tower along with Skyhouse will really boost that portion of the skyline.

Oh, I almost forgot, a buddy at one of the big construction firms said that Ustler's project between Cheney Place and Steelhouse is taking bids. Great news. It could begin construction around the time when Steelhouse starts wrapping up construction. This will really add to Uptown, not to mention the GDC project just north of 801 N. Orange- that seems very likely to get built.

Please don't tell me that they demolished the old arena only to see nothing happen there. Aren't they at least proceeding with infrastructure work ?

Well there is nothing set in Stone yet. I did read in the OBJ that the retiring of some important person from Bank Of America, who Ustler is partnered with for the first phase, would not harm the timeline of this project.

I don't buy it. I think it's a knock up for a delay untold or a delay that's delayed and will come about.

Here's my take on creative village. If that Parramore Lymmo line is actually built, they have to build something there! They HAVE too. It makes no sense for Lymmo to run through there and there is no development.

But as I stated. I was never on board. I think the "Creative Village" is just one huge ass MIXED USE project. I know it's supposed to be Hi-Tech and take 30 years, but I don't buy that.

Yup. Ustler and his posse are in charge of that. There has been reported to be no delays, but I cant protest to that as the clearing out has done a tremendous job. Can't even recognize that lot almost while driving by. They have removed over 5 million pounds of metal to be recycled so far.

Well I may be a bit of a future thinker here, but I'm going to put it out there. As I-4 is a vital viewpoint for Orlando's skyline and it's vies (every day constant movement) I'd have a serious issue with World Trade Center blocking the view of Sky House. Lol. Unless it's taller than what we have been speculating then I'd be okay. But knowing Sun Trust to be the tallest all my life, It'll just be plain freaky to see a core develop on that end of the skyline. Do you think that project and 1 will ever get the light of day by any chance? That could really do a pack on street level activity as well as the transit oriented development around that area.

I'm usually on the ball with things in Orlando, but what projects in uptown are you referring too?

Yeahhhhhh I'm bizurk! Only on this project though. I admire the Mayor and what he has done downtown and within city limits. Not to mention recently he and awful Jacobs came to an agreement about the citrus bowl. I'd love to see a street car line on church street. Vintage Like representing church street station. Connecting Historic Church Street Station, Amway Center, and Citrus Bowl in a way.

I dont think they have enough Space on that block, esp with OPD headquarters there to do a mixed use. I dont see it happening.
