Bundang Line - South Extension to Suwon

Hello Everyone,

I had the opportunity to spend a week in Suwon, and passed the construction sites of the metro in the city many times.

I was curious about the project so I tried to find more information about it. So far I know that it is the Bundang Line that is being built, which is getting extended from Giheung to Suwon and it is scheduled to be completed in end 2013.

Unfortunatelly I was not able to get any information about the details in english.

I would appreciate it if anyone could fill me in on the details, such as what exact route will the line take, how many stops will there be between Giheung and Suwon, etc.

If you have any information, or links to english articles about project, please don't hold it back!

Thanks in advance!

What I'm curious about is the section between Giheung and Suwon which is being built at the moment.

I'll be doing a post on this soon once I get time. Been so busy I've hardly been able to write any updates.

A part of the extension was opened according to the schedule! 7.4 km from Gheung to Mangpo, four new stations on the Bundang Line are now connecting Suwon to Bundang and Seoul via Rail. The first rail way through Suwon was built in 1905 and with the Bundang Line, it is the newest rail connection in 107 years!

The Bundang line is great, it is so useful that it goes so far south.
