the other two towers also seem to be close to touching the 300m mark with their antenna/spire.

I've been thinking to open this thread for a long time.. well, now it's the time to share some of the pictures I took in that area

I've seen many different renders pictures and videos of the skyscrapers in that area, but for me it just doesn't look realistic any more. One of them..

this one hopefully is going to rise

plot

They are concentrating on the exhibition halls at the moment

3 of them already build, but standing empty over there, another 3 under construction.

The whole area is quit remote and undeveloped, I cannot understand how are they going to fill those residential buildings and (if they are going to build them) office towers up and keep the exhibition halls busy.

Found better quality render for the whole site

img from http://116.11.253.210:9999/epaper/nn...0/42/42_35.htm

Some information from www.chinasouthcity.com
Quote:
China South City Nanning is strategically positioned in Nanning, Guangxi bordering Vietnam and within easy reach of Burma, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and other Southeast Asian Nations, with access to an integrated and extensive transportation network of airports, railways, port facilities and highways, connecting to major cities of China.

China South City Nanning is expected to have a site area of approximately 1.7 million square meters and will be developed in two phases. Construction will begin in the first half of 2010 and the whole project is expected to be completed in 2014.

Upon completion, China South City Nanning will have a total GFA of approximately 4.2 million square meters, offering trade centers service to companies in various industries, including 1) textile and clothing, 2) leather and accessories, 3) chemicals and plastics industries, as well as other key industries that are particular to Guangxi.

As with all trade centers developed by us, the China South City Nanning will offer a comprehensive range of supporting services such as logistics, warehousing, commercial and residential facilities, and underground car parking facilities.
This is going to be world's largest exhibition center

This area is HUGE! I wander how tall the tallest is. COmpare this tower with that, it looks like 650m to 700m!

This area sort of reminds me of the Old Guangzhou airport. Where now they turned terminals to shopping malls.
