Miapolis will happen one day and believe me, it will.

It would be about time that America took back the title back home where it belongs.

The Birthplace of Skyscrapers is USA.

Miami Would be a perfect place to have it and MIAPOLIS is a very beautiful building.

Resorts World Miami has city approval for much of it. The casino is not approved until Florida law is changed. The tallest tower could get a waiver to go supertall if everything else is approved. ( I think that was just some bait dangled by Genting to get their project fully approved.)

Brickell CitiCentre Breaks Ground

Quote:
Hong Kong-based developer Swire Properties broke ground today on its massive Brickell CitiCentre project in downtown Miami, in what could be the beginning of substantive westward expansion across South Miami Avenue. The nine-acre, $1.05 billion project is planned to include two office buildings, two residential towers, a hotel, a wellness center, service apartments and 520,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space.

“The most important thing out of the many important things with this project is that they have moved progress toward the west,” Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado told The Real Deal. “Miami Avenue was just an imaginary line that developers wouldn’t cross to the west, and what this is doing to West Brickell is making it explode as a potential center for real estate and construction.”

MIA terminal could become large retail complex

http://www.miasci.org/blog/team/architectural-team

Plans to transform Miami International Airport’s Landside Terminal into a nine-story, 160-foot shopping mall with hotel and office space have been proposed, according to Miami Today. The project comes as Miami experiences a post-recession retail renaissance with major commercial developments taking over the Design District and downtown.

“It would be a large retail development unlike what we have in travel anywhere in the United States,” said Jose Ramos, a county aviation department employee. At the same time, construction on MIA’s North Terminal, which has been ongoing since 1998, is scheduled to be completed this month.

Gap Grows On Lincoln Road

http://miami.curbed.com/archives/201...-gap-space.php

Quote:
The Gap has signed a long-term, 20,000-square-foot lease at 1001 Lincoln Road and is planning to construct a new ground-up, two-story, 29,000-square-foot, structure on the site, according to the Comras Company, which brokered the deal on behalf of the site’s landlord.

The clothing retailer is setting up shop in the location where Apple had intended to house an expanded flagship store until backing out last year, after disputes with the city of Miami Beach’s preservation board over the current building’s historic value.

“Gap thought it would be a great idea for them to come in and take advantage of the opportunity to go and redevelop the property into a new flagship building,” Michael Comras, president of the Comras Company, told The Real Deal.

The retailer will occupy 6,800 square feet on the ground floor, and an additional 13,200 square feet on the second floor of the structure. There will be 9,000 square feet available for an additional tenant.

“[I]t just further solidifies Lincoln Road as one of the main shopping destinations [in the country],” he said.
