Some comments from Paradigm thread:

Really crowded.

Carpark was dusty.

Over 80% of stores are opened but most of the big tenants - Cinema, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, ZARA, etc are not opened yet.

Feel that the mall is a good compact version of 1 Utama, but abit too small for the crowd. The centre court was really small.

People were lining up at all the F&B stores till the walkways were blocked.

It is true that Paradigm Mall is very dusty at the moment, just like the old wing of One Utama which is now under construction of its TGV cinemas. I guess all new mall would be dusty until 98% of its tenanats moved in.

The car park is quite good actually. It is spacious and plenty. Direction signage, perhaps, can improve further.

It is like a 45% One Utama, except it is more upbeat, trendy, better decor, higher end feeling. I have better shopping mood here even when it is still dusty.

By the way, the toilet is superb. But you have to wait for the lifts, they are a little slow.

I have brought a number of friends from Hong Kong and Singapore to dine in One Utama as I live in Bandar Utama. They are not impressed at all about 1U, mainly because of the floor plan and decor and smelly restrooms. Fortunately we have Pavilion, Starhill, and KL Suria, and The Gardens to make Klang Valley dwellers proud, so I normally would go with friends from overseas to these malls.

Having said these, my local friends normally enjoy 1U and probably they are not looking for cleaner, upbeat, and trendy ambience. My daughter likes 1U because she still can find somethings inexpensive to buy as she just graduated from graduate school and yet to work in Hong Kong.

I got my hair cut at Quick Cut, Paradigm Mall, for RM16. It was a steal as it was buy one get one free. The second hair cut can be done before June 30, 2012. However, do not loose the coupon as the store only honor the promise if you have the coupon.

Only place you can get free parking is Tesco at the Curve/IPC/e@the curve/Tesco shopping malls, but you have to spend a few ringgits buying just something at Tesco to get your parking free. Present your parking card to the cashier when you make your payment to enjoy the advantage. Only 3 hours free.

By the way IPC/Ikea has similar offer for parking, only that Ikea's products may not be truly what you need like daily necessity such as salt, rice, sugar, cooking oil, vinegar from Tesco.

One Utama is much better than Low Yat but far less than Pavilion or KL Suria. They are of different status quo. Pavilion and KL Suria are of highest international standard while One Utama is of local community standard. And Low Yat is for the handphone and computer related products.

I came back to Damansara eight year ago, so I'm not entirely sure of the situation. I'll try listing the shopping malls, big and small, along the LDP:

IOI Mall
Sunway Pyramid
Giant Mall
Paradigm Mall
SS2 Mall
Tropicana City
Atria (redeveloped from formerly Atrium, to be open soon)
One Utama
The Curve
e@the Curve
KidZania
IPC and Ikea
The Courts
Tesco Mall
Carrefour Mall? (near Damansara Sunway)

I had a bad experience with Good Evening Bangkok (One Utama) last time when I was host to my relatives from Singapore. The staff wasn't well trained and couldn't communicate well in English. If you do not speak Malay well, I don't recommend it to you.

This one is in the One Utama. The restaurant has been there since at least 2004 when I first came back from Hong Kong. My family used to dine there until they cut cost by using many foreign experts(non-Thai).
