+ 1.
P.s. I think, Dubai will win not only because of it's skyscrapers and landmarks, but also because it has great general idea( "connecting minds, creating future"), great infrastruction, amazing pavilion, really comfortable location( most people can reach it in just 8 hours!) and strong advertisement program.

That's true. You're saying Europe and Middle East are "most people".

Good for you! So you prefer something that 15 years ago was nothing but sand and dust over a 500-year city that is one of world's biggest? Way to go, irmão!

If you look to the age of a city then Izmir must win.

Izmir is the oldest of them

6500 B.C. means over 8500 years old.

China is not so far from Dubai as well. Dubai has one of the best airports in the world and many flights to different countries, so it won't be a problem to reach it.

The only thing which is better in San Paolo is human right. I agree with you that Dubai has horrible laws and they don't even know such words as woman rights, gay rights etc.

If "distance from China or India" was a valid criteria, they would never hold Expos in the USA.

No. There are A LOT of things that São Paulo is way better than Dubai. I invite to come here and know the city. Maybe a little visit to the official thread of the city would help. And no, "petrodollars" is NOT a merit.

I don't say that it is main criteria, but it is also rather important.

Maybe. I've never been to San Paolo, so I can't judge. But I have been to Dubai and I love this city very much and want it to win this bid! There are many on hold projects there, it is the only chance to restart them and to build new mega-projects.

Don't worry! Dubai will take this one, all right. The arabs are spending the best their petrodollars can afford to buy as many votes as they can. So, there you have another difference between both cities.

Right now, only a 6% of their money is from petrol. So, don't talk without knowing.
And also, a city isn't better just for being old.

It's sad that mega-projects are the only things that people like to talk about in Dubai. Yes, these fantasy projects would be cool, but at what cost? The world should not support Dubai until Dubai supports the world's values.

Freedom of religion, women's rights, gay rights, and slavery need to be addressed in Dubai before it can be considered an appropriate place for a World's Expo.

To say Sao Paulo should not win is very ignorant. It is an extremely cosmopolitan and diverse city, unlike Dubai.

To those vouching for Dubai and claiming Sao Paulo to be ugly: Remember, not all of Dubai is nice. In fact, though tall, many of Dubai's buildings are not very nice.

I am not Brazilian, but I vouch for Sao Paulo! It is a real city, with a history, that deserves to win!

Human rights are more important than tall buildings and fantasy mega-projects.

That is true, but history is a very important part of a city. Thats why many places in Europe are so amazing to visit. The historic aspect of Sao Paulo is very significant, and that should not be forgotten. It has long roots as a great city. Clearly its history has lead it to having proper human rights and freedoms, unlike Dubai.

I think Qatar won World Cup 2022
Brazil has won World Cup 2014 and 2016 Olympics.

So with another Gulf State winning Expo 2020 Gulf States & Brazil would be equal

How dare you said that! And Dubai is no real city, it was only founded (the actual city not the village) in the late 1960s.
