Most persons who discredit Dubai have never visited…please don't speak from Youtube videos…and news articles by journalist who also have never visited.

I'm only excited for the construction not the Expo. Nine years from now we will see a whole new city!

Sorry. I can't visit Dubai, since my passport has an Israeli visa and UAE authorities do not allow people with Israeli visa to enter their country. So no Expo 2020 in Dubai for me.

Dubai is not the only country that discredits or dislikes Israel. Take a look at the Middle East as a whole.

Relations with Israel needs to get better with the whole Middle East before that happens.

Brazil wont get the Expo. They have the World Cup and the Olympics. They need to worry about security and the two biggest events in the world before they start to worry about other events. The Olympics can make or break a country's reputation. Security is lacking and could use improvements. I wasn't impress with security when I was there earlier this summer. There was a feeling of uncertainty. Especially the week before the pope came to visit Brazil.

So...??? That doesn't make it any better. What is the point of an universal event if you do not allow people with different sexual behavior or certain nationality to participate? Even IF I could get in, it is known that jews are not welcome there, specially those who would go out on the streets using a kippah or using some space of the Expo to pray and in need of freedom of religion.

Dubai and no muslim country (maybe, just maybe Turkey, but I didn't like people staring at me like that while I was praying in the Istambul airport.) should hold this events if they really believe the sha'aria is ok.

São Paulo is the best choice by far because Brazil is the only country nowadays that won't kill you for having a different opinion on life.

You don't want to discuss this? Really?

The link posted by you means nothing. I guess you didn't even bother to read it.

According to state government data, the expanded center of the city is as dangerous as Paris, for instance. If we have trouble, it's on suburbs (oh, well, there you go! Another thing in common with Paris).

And how is that Dubai can be dangerous? It was created yesterday. They didn't have time to develop real city problems so far.

Yes, and Dubai is also not the only place with slavery, terrible women's rights, no LGTB rights, and little freedom.

Just because it is not the only country with bad human rights does not mean it should be a host, nor does it mean it is any more acceptable.

A world's expo is used to bring the world together and showcase the best of what our planet has to offer. The rights in Dubai are not the best of what our planet has to offer, nor is Dubai a place where everyone can freely visit.
